Over the past couple of week we've seen typical Summer rain in Kansas City accompanied by an inordinate amount of flooding on local streets.
Remember that Westport was pretty much underwater last Sunday after rain that was TOTALLY normal for this time of year.
Now, as we prepare to build a new Downtown Convention Hotel, extend the toy train streetcar line and maybe build a new airport . . . It's clear that Kansas City isn't making much progress on federally mandated storm drain and water infrastructure updates.

There's a bright side to this: The rain usually washes out the violent teen flash mobs.
And so . . . Check the links and place your bets as to flooding in Kansas City proper. Over/under . . . If it rains more than 3 inches more than a few Midtown Kansas City streets will be impassable.
