DeleteI, unofficially, invite all poor people, of any color or combination thereof, to come to West Virginia (No racists, please.) You'll experience less stress & anxiety, eat better & live longer.
ReplyDeleteIf you just look at statistics you'd think that there were almost no people of color here, but the ones we have all live in what passes for cities here. The culture shock will not be as great as you might imagine (some of our young people listen to Tech9.) We have a Black Heritage Festival & an Italian Heritage Festival (there was a time when some people called Italians, Niggers. After all, the English mean English when they say White.)
There was little slavery here. Most of our black people are descended from refugees, or migrants. So, there are no "historical complications". You will experience a better quality of life here. There's no question about that. You will even hear Spanish spoken here from time to time.
I have been all over this country. I know you will be surprised. You will see why most people from West Virginia end up going back home.
So, come & see what its like to not be hated for being poor.
There you go poor folk, do a Jed Clampitt in reverse. But be sure to take the pit bulls, the baby daddies, and all your junk autos with you. This will never happen but if it did crime would be almost non existent, property values would skyrocket and once again KC would be a decent place to live.

DeleteLarge concentrations of poor folk drain public resources. Who knew? The bigger question is more of a chicken - egg: Are they failing because they're poor, or poor due to failings?

ReplyDeleteMost people don't hate poor people, but they do get really tired of the grifters of the civil rights industrial complex who relentlessly work to keep others down for their own financial benefit and have great skill in turning hundreds of millions of public dollars into thin air.
ReplyDeleteThe last national president of the NAACP had a salary of $875,000/year. And here in KCMO the same snouts are constantly in search of a nearby trough.
And it's been the same for decades and nothing has changed for poor people.
In fact, their lot has gotten worse.
What happens to people who are constantly told that they have no opportunities or ability to change their own lives through their own efforts isn't everyone else's fault.
Yeah if we could ship the NIGGERS out this place would be a lot better.
