Interesting segment on CBS Sunday Morning today, which said that of the 100% of vets who are afflicted with PTSD, only 23% were actually deployed.

3:51, I agree. Every aberrant behavior by a person who was once in the military, whether combat or cookery, is attributed to PTSD by the mindless media. Doing so insults the combat vets who really do suffer from it.
ReplyDeleteMaybe they get PTSD when they come home and find out their ol lady has been blowing the neighbor, it takes then three times longer to get a job than those who never left home, the VA is a nightmare and their worst enemy, they get cheated out of their belefits becasue of a one digit typo on their DD214, lenders cheat and add points to their VA loans and the government does nothing about it, the VA claims to protect their private medical information while releasing it to every corporation that comes along and wants to do a drug study. The list goes on, but often the stress is not about the enemy. It is about a system n tramples all over returning vets and often makes their lives hell rather than helping.
