Kansas City Council Emergencies This Week

Quick list of all the emergency actions before City Council this coming week . . .

Good Idea Actually . . . EMERGENCY POTHOLE FILLING!!!
#150321: Authorizing a contract for approximately $3,700,000.00 with J.M. Fahey Construction Company for the resurfacing of various streets generally between the Missouri River and South City Limits; and recognizing this ordinance as having an accelerated effective date.

EMERGENCY LAWSUIT PAYMENT!!!
#150336: Appropriating $975,000.00 from the Unappropriated Fund Balance of the General Fund; approving and authorizing settlement of claims made under the Fair Labor Standards Act related to overtime pay for paramedics and emergency medical technicians who were not part of the class involved in the lawsuit entitled Marissa Hermsen, et al. v. City of Kansas City, Missouri, Case No. 11-0753-CV-W-BP; recognizing this ordinance as having an accelerated effective date.

EMERGENCY HOBO CARE!!!
#150333: Authorizing the Director of Health to enter into contracts with area health centers, along with Children's Mercy Hospital, and Truman Medical Center to provide primary health care services for indigent residents in Kansas City, Missouri; and declaring this ordinance as an emergency.

None of these big money rush decisions are too objectionable, and they aren't nearly as expensive as all the surprise eco-devo emergency actions that Mayor Sly has in store before the new council takes office.
