Today locals take to the streets in order to fight against corporate control of the food supply and more public awareness of GMOs and their consequences.
Saturday is the Third Annual March Against Monsanto! The event starts at 10 a.m., with a rally at noon and the March on the Country Club Plaza at 1 p.m.
From our friend Leigh Ann: Reasons to March Against Monsanto
From the organizers: "We'll have live music, information booths, activities for kids, entertainment, and appearances by
Lakota Actor/Activist Moses Brings Plenty
Winston Apple
and a VERY SPECIAL appearance by Brooklyn, NY jazz fusion band Moon Hooch
It's always a lot of fun and we hope that anybody who's concerned about food safety and corporate monopoly of the world's food supply will show up and help us educate hundreds and thousands of people who have no idea yet at this new Kansas City tradition!"

GMOs in our food? We're doomed! We're doomed!
ReplyDeleteBan GMOs! Ban hybrids! Let's go back to the stone age!
If they were really serious, they'd loot and burn a Quick Trip.
ReplyDeleteI wonder whether Soros is funding these loonies like he paid for the Ferguson rioters.
Those who oppose GMOs also tend to not get kids vaccinated.
ReplyDeleteGMOs are the Left's version of denial of climate change.
Though Monsanto is evil and did not do a true peer review for any of their GMOs or rBGH.
Could it be that the right is correct about vaccines and the left is correct about GMOs? I think with both, new vaccines and GMOs are being rushed on the market without enough testing. Older vaccines have proven themselves safe and effective and the domestication of plants and animals is genetic modification.
ReplyDeleteI do agree with Orphan that Monsanto is one evil empire.
What is "Entertainmanet"?
ReplyDeleteWill there be a Manet tableaux?
I do hope so. I hope it is "Déjeuner sur l'herbe".
11:14 Here. I meant to say could it be that left is correct about vaccines and GMOs and the right could be correct about the climate. Too many things are being sold to the public as "science" where the conclusions of this pseudo-science have not been subjected to the scientific method.
ReplyDeleteWith all their talk none of these "activists" ever mention how they're going to feed seven billion people
ReplyDeleteWhy do they have to bother people down at the plaza. Go protest down in Westport.
ReplyDeleteDamn, the Bear missed it. Had to roll thru Excelsior this afternoon.
ReplyDeleteReally disappointed.....wanted to run up behind Caleb at the march and jack a load in his hair.....the yell "bitch" .
