CELEBRATE KANSAS CITY MAYOR SLY ELECTION TIME EAST SIDE ECO-DEVO!!!

Wondering if Mayor Sly is going to smile and joke with the crowd amid this eco-devo event as much as he plays to the toy train constituents.

It should be a good show and probably that last time Mayor Sly will see this part of town again until he decides to run for something else . . . Given that any kind most East Side residents seem skeptical of his paltry efforts that mostly include citing an alphabet soup list of welfare programs with no real quantifiable benchmarks for community improvement.

Seemingly anticipating a win on his late tax pay lawsuit . . . Here's the happy face on an Administration mostly focused on Downtown eco-devo for hipsters:

  1. A-squad grifters helping out the B-squad grifters. Isn’t that special!

  2. Does it involve something people will actually use, like the Prospect MAX? Or is that still being held hostage for the toy choo choo?

  3. More hype and hysteria. Yep, the grifter circle has gathered to further pad the narrative of a revitalization along Prospect corridor. What's really happening is that friends of the circle have managed to accumulate money to begin the re-purposing of the Linwood shopping center. This would be news if the same person who owned the complex to begin with hadn't foreclosed on it; and then bought it back in a secondary foreclosure. Same people. Same owners. Same disappointment. Nothing new here. Issue more media releases for the cycle of poverty and community destruction. Anything to detract from Sly's tax scandal.

  4. The east side just voted against Prospect MAX service. The voters have spoken. The bus service they have is what they want. The east side DOES NOT WANT MORE TRANSIT!

Especially if the west side is paying for it!

  5. There can be no economic development as long as the crime level remains this high. No business with the possible exception of funeral homes can make money with the level of violence in inner city KCMO

    ReplyDelete
  6. He's a NIGGER and as such, will definitely be re-elected. No question about it and there's not a fucking thing you can do about it either!

  7. The east side did not have the opportunity to vote on the Prospect MAX, trolley boy. The east side was offered the Prospect MAX as a carrot in exchange for being stuck with the toy choo choo and all the increased special (i.e., nondeductible) property taxes and sales taxes that come with it.

They proved to be not quite as ignorant as you thought.

You can keep repeating your little story about how the east side destroyed your little dream, and I fully expect you to do so, but realize while you may have the toy choo choo crowd in a whirl, your only fooling one girl, Tangerine.

  8. He's moving his law firm to Prospect, right?

  10. What part of NO DONT YOU UNDERSTAND?

The east side voted against Prospect Max. In fact, the closer ppl live to Prospect, the higher the NO vote was. We don't want your TOY BUS! We want real transit that actually exists! The bus we have already serves Prospect! This is JUST LIKE SLAVERY! You
Can't ram this down our throats with no vote! Sly is a dictator and also probably a one-eyed Charlie who will use his Prospect Max to round us up and sell us back to the Massa!

    Prospect Max = Slave ship

    BRT = Brotha Round-up Trick!

Wake up ppl! Honk honk! All aboard! Toy Bus boondoggle! Squeaky brakes will ruin our golden silence! Children playing in the middle of Propsect will be killed by the toy slave bus!

    Black Lives Matter!

  15. Yes put up an entertainment thingy next to or near the new Linwood and Prospect Sunfresh. A movie theater, night clubs, a park with fountain.

  17. Taxpayers bought Linwood Shopping Center.

Knew their had to be a catch. They have to move emergency money from something?

  18. To those individuals who call Uncle Sly a “nigger”, I am deeply offended. Uncle Sly is whiter that most white people. Uncle Sly is a Roman Catholic, the graduate of a Catholic high school and college and while in college, he joined a predominately white fraternity, Tau Kappa Epsilon (TKE) and he studied law and got his law degree at predominately white law schools. He is married to a white woman and was a successful corporate lawyer. I would guess he likes white bread, mayonnaise and Velveeta cheese. Anyone calling him a “nigger” owes an apology to everyone one on the Eastside who calls themselves that. Uncle Sly is a honkies’ honkey. Economic Development for the Eastside is not for the benefit of the Eastside, it is for the benefit of Uncle Sly’s masters, the Power Elite of Kansas City. You know, the honkies who live in the Golden Ghetto.

  19. 9:53 & 11:00: Why not let people on the east side vote on the Prospect MAX? Just the Prospect MAX?

In fact, when you get right down to it, trolley boy, why do we NEED a vote on the Prospect MAX? I don't recall anyone voting on the Troost or Main MAX.

As for bus service already serving Prospect, tangerine boy, if you had ever used a bus in Kansas City, you'd know both the Main Street and Troost MAX routes were already served before those MAXs were begun, and the Troost bus (that would be #25 in the event you ever ride a bus--and a bus is one of those big white and blue things in the event you've never seen one) STILL serves Troost.

But you can keep playing to an empty theater if you'd like, Norma.

  20. Why the hell are they voting for bus service? Transit agency's that have their shit just re deploy resources and make improvements and upgrades to existing service.

  21. Transit agency's that have their shit together sorry.

Anyway why do I smell a "tax scheme"with this Prospect Max deal.

How can we make this new sun fresh more dense and urban, walkable, and toy transit friendly!!!

    ReplyDelete
  23. 1:09: The Prospect MAX was "voted" on as part of the streetcar vote.

If the "poor ignorant east siders" (trolley boy's words, not mine) wanted a MAX, they'd have to vote to increase their sales tax rate and agree to special assessments on their property.

Those folks may be poor, but they weren't quite as ignorant as trolley boy and the great streetcar hypesters thought.

The days of 40 acres and a mule are long gone.

  24. Next time you hear some Kool-Aid-sculling so called urban planner boast about density, walk-ability, and transit punch them really hard.

  25. You'll have trouble hearing any of that talk since you sepnd all your time trolling suburbanite blog sites for a pat on the back bout what a tough, no-nonsens suburbanite you are. Save your big boy talk for your monthly night out with Todd and Katie at the Brass Rail. Just remember, Bryce has baseball tomorrow and Samantha (who we call Sam, hahah, isnt that just the cutest!) has gymnastics and last time Emily got really upset when you got drunk and talked about how you were going to kick anyone's ass who talked about density. She thought you meant destiny, and that's what brought you together, after all. Anyway, it was "no yoga pants time" around the Mulligan house for a few days after that, ifyaknowwhaddimean!

  26. If the story's true, the city will now own the shopping center and Cleaver's working a plan for the city to buy 18th and Vine.
After all, why just throw money down rat holes as subsidies, when you can make taxpayers responsible for every aspect of failing commercial enterprises.
Millions gone as far as the eye can see.
Anyone else in some other part of the city with a losing operation or pipe dream that they need a few mill for?
The cash drawer is open. Come on down!
