Just a bit of data that debunks most of the toy train streetcar propaganda:
Show-Me: Millennials Prefer Suburbs . . . and Cars
Here's the money quote:
"The generation once seen as shunning cars accounted for 27% of new auto sales in the US last year, up 9 percentage points from 2010, according to a recent study by JD Power and Associates."
And it's common knowledge that Kansas City Public Schools pretty much preclude any millennial from staying within the urban core and raising a family.
Developing . . .
If you build it they will come
ReplyDeleteIf they build it, you will pay for it. And few will use it.
ReplyDeleteNostalgia is nice, but no one really wants to go back to the 1940s. Well, no one but trolley boy.
ReplyDeleteWhat about nostalgia for functioning schools? Those were the days.
DeletePeople are leaving the Kansas City Mo School District and moving to a better district, like Hickman Mills. For those of you educated in KCPS or UMKC, that remark is not meant to be serious, it is what is called sarcasm.
ReplyDeleteFACT CHECK:
ReplyDeleteWhile the % of cars beig purchased by young people is up (from historic lows), this is due to the numerical size of the generation, not their relative preferences. A SMALLER % OF MILLENIALS IS DRIVING THAN ANY OTHER GENERATION IN THE AUTOMOBILE ERA.
Shockingly Pat Touhey ad Uncle Rexroth seem to not quite have their fingers on the pulse of youth in America. In right wing fantasy land, sure, but not in the real world, which is why Pay Me propaganda resonates so well with the malcontents and social rejects of this blog...
Thanks for your predictable self-serving input, trolley boy.
ReplyDeleteEveryone who disagrees with your wisdom is being paid off for sure, and just because you're a paranoid nutcase does not mean everyone is not against you.
