TKC BREAKING AND EXCLUSIVE NEWS!!! KANSAS CITY MAYOR SLY SENDS OLD SCHOOL COUNCIL AWAY WITH NOTHING!!!

After four years of nearly total domination, Mayor Sly James is ready to dismiss the outgoing City Council with little fanfare or reward for their years of service.

Accordingly . . .

THE LONGTIME SUPPORTERS OF TERMED OUT CITY COUNCIL MEMBERS COMPLAIN THAT MAYOR SLY FAILS TO REWARD LOYAL SERVICE AND COOPERATION WITH HIS AGENDA!!!

Accordingly . . .

NOBODY LOSES BIGGER THAN KANSAS CITY COUNCIL DUDE RUSS JOHNSON FOR COOPERATING WITH MAYOR SLY AND PUSHING THE TOY TRAIN!!!

Council dude Russ was supposed to be the new ATA dude but instead Sly decided to go with somebody who held future promise rather than repay old debts.

Council lady Jan is getting pushed out the door and Mayor Sly loves to tell people she's "retiring" even though the midtown lady plans to stay active.

The famous potato salad of Jan Marcason will now be flavored with bitter tears after Mayor Sly has cast her aside in favor of trying to get close to her successor Jolie Justus.

And then . . .

Council Dude Ed Ford can complain about blogs but it's really Mayor Sly who is muscling him out of power . . .

This Northland dude is getting the bums rush and his only hope of holding to some kind of influence is the behind the scenes work he's doing in pushing the candidacy of his pal Teresa Loar who now leads the 2nd District At-Large race.

Council Lady Melba isn't even a memory for Mayor Sly . . .

The Mayor typically forgets about the 3rd District so writing off Council Lady Melba despite her connections to a prestigious and powerful family aren't out of character but a reminder that the Mayor's connection to the urban core is tenuous at best.

Now . . .

There's a bright side . . .

Nobody is pushing Council Dude Sharp out of the local political scene . . .

He'll be even more influential on the South Town Council and among his loyal crew of union and Democrat operatives.

More interestingly . . .

The move to make Cindy Circo the next Mayor of Kansas City starts NOW!!!

She's not only a PAC mover and shaker but she could be the queen of the new special election given the Mayor's late pay tax crisis that persists.

Developing . . .

  1. TKC, it's not about what you have done. It's about what you can do.

  2. Good riddance to all of them. 'Just two requests. Can you take the rest of the bunch (including the fat man) and the current crop of wannbes too?

  3. Any one who supported the downtown train and allowed PIAC tax dollars to fund studies for it
are getting what they deserve. No honor Mong thieves. Johnson's long history as "bully-boy Johnson" should gain him no sympathy. These fools have harmed their districts and the city .

  4. The least Sly could do for Russ Johnson is to promise that the next round of bond borrowing and refinancing for the streetcar will be named for him.
The Johnson tranche has such a nice ring to it.
And he'll be remembered by the residents of KCMO for decades!

  5. This outgoing council absolutely SUCKS. Know why? Troy Schulte and his minions

  6. I always thought Jan Marcason was one of the stupidest people on the council. And that's saying a lot because the competition for that spot is FIERCE.

  7. It's no bright side to see John Sharp staying active in south KC politics! He is a dark cloud helping out-of-staters suck the life out of the Southland.

And his influence over likely successor Kevin McManus combined with his vindictive political style promises years of continued decline for the poor schmucks who haven't seen the light and left for Lee's Summit or Kansas.

  8. 7:55, sure Troy sucks. But to give him credit for making our council people suck is giving credit where none is do. I've had the displeasure of working on city issues with many of these clowns. They deserve all the credit for their own suckiness.

  9. Maybe it's because he also is leaving office

  11. No city department audits, out of control fire department, crumbling infrastructure, TIF money give aways, $15,000 for "Floyd Mayweather", grifter programs such as AimFoPeace, photos of the reverend's junk. And these assholes want a reward?

  12. Everyone needs to sacrifice to get the not yet in service but already successful magical mysterical Mensa boy memorial combination flying carpet and streetcar amusement park ride up and running. Everything will be rainbows, lollipops and unicorns once the streetcar starts chugging and toot tooting around downtown.

  14. All the assholes on this blog, the only one that had the balls enough to actually come out from behind the cloak of "anonymous" and run for office was Bryan Stalder. The rest of you are sociopathic cowards.

Of course, Stalder got annihilated so maybe the cowards are the smarter ones.

  18. Dear TKC Blogger,

Now this is the way to begin a new week. Excellent article, whose information I would find nowhere else.

Special editorial relish points are awarded for "The famous potato salad of Jan Marcason will now be flavored with bitter tears.."

I find it simply amazing that this blog keeps me informed of something as significant as KC Mayor James being ineligible for reelection, while the KC Star and local TV continue abdicating their role as public watchdog. I thank you.

  22. You are dead wrong on this. If it opens up the filing process again far more qualified candidates will file. Mike Burke, Dan Coffran to name just two. There is no way Circo becomes Mayor unless Sly is kicked out before his term ends and that might be Mayor for a month, a week, a day, no more.

Maybe it's time for you to relocate somewhere where people agree with you, like the Northland or Joplin.

John Sharp has one foot in the grave and the other on a banana peel. That will push him out of life. Thank God for natural selection.

  25. Of course, 4:08. And the 355 people who passed the starter boondoggle in a special restricted election.

Once your OVERWHELMING LANDSLIDE MAJORITY gets a look at the real thing and you reveal how much the extension will cost them, the joke will be on you. Uh, you are planning to reveal how much it will cost them, aren't you?
