SHOCK!!! POLICE STEP UP SECURITY AFTER CREDIBLE DEATH THREAT REPORTED AGAINST KANSAS CITY MAYOR SLY JAMES!!!

And so Kansas City pundits, pollsters and consultants can stop laboring under the illusion that Mayor Sly James is universally beloved.

In much the same way that not-so-long ago former Councilman Terry Riley faced threats at City Hall . . . Right now here's tragic news about Mayor Sly James confronts increasing Kansas City danger.

Take a look:

Fox4: Police guard home of Mayor Sly James after alleged death threat

KCTV5: KCPD provide extra protection after threats made against mayor

KSHB: Death threats to mayor have police on alert

KMBC: As for Mayor James, he is continuing with his business as usual.

Hopefully, police will track down this despicable act of a coward . . . Police have been on guard at the Mayor's home since 1 in the A.M. according to Kathy Quinn.

Meanwhile, while this blog is opposed to just about everything the Mayor is doing lately other than his reading program for youngsters, this kind of horrific act shouldn't be tolerated or thought of as free speech at all . . . Anybody with any info is encouraged to call the TIPS hotline.

Developing . . .

  1. TKC, another perspective that you might want to try is that this is a really unfortunate consequence of a shrinking democracy when people don't feel like they have any real options against the status quo.

  2. No way, there have been idiots out there since day one. The person making threats is just another idiot.

  3. First suspects police should look for are the many racists who post on this blog. Tony, get ready for the search warrant.
Better crawl back in your holes and you know who you are.

  4. 6:45: Please note the term "alleged" in the news story, and please stop trying to pin the blame on a free speech blog.

You may now return your head to its normal upright position in your ass.

  5. 6:45-agreed. The only reason no one engages this crazy in "conversation", is because we all recognize the "n-word dude" is a complete wacko! Hit his house first Mr. Officer.

  6. There are hundreds of n word dudes on this post. Try phone calls from the Jackson County Jail first

The only way the Mayor ever gets shot, is if he decides to foolishly go confront the thugs on the Plaza during one of their frequent eruptions in front of The Cheesecake Factory. That has been and will continue to be the only time the Mayor was in mortal danger.

NOT from what Progressives would have you believe, are KKK members, waiting behind every bush and beneath every bed, to shoot noble, hard working black people who are oppressed by evil racists, no, he would be shot by the usual, run of the mill, garden variety black thug who opens fire into a crowd, EXACTLY as it happened a couple of years ago.

So take that evil white boogey man bullshit story to the K.C. Star and Jenee, Louis and Yael. Only willfully impercipient, self loathing, ethnomasochistic whites and stupid blacks believe that kind of shit any more.

  9. The real unsolved and ongoing mystery is still - - how do the Citizens of Kansas City Missouri impose fiscal discipline on Mayor James and The City Council.

We challenge the media to cover that for once.

  10. sounds like a false flag to move attention away from tax issues. but in all sincerity, hope the mayor stays safe.

    ReplyDelete
  11. Like 8:15, I hate to say it, but I am cynical. All we know is that it was a "credible death threat". Was it communicated via phone? Email? Smoke signal? We are not allowed to know? Why? Shouldn't we shed light on this act of cowardice? And also, why not specify what the "credible threat" was? Until this information comes forward, it seems a bit like a stunt. When all the pertinent information is released I may change my tune.

  27. @10:11. Their job is to protect and serve every citizen of Kansas City the same. And every credible threat to every citizen doesn't get treated like this. I don't remember the Funk having a security detail as he drove himself around in his beat up Toyota Carolla to save the city money. The irony is that while he is cutting the budget to the police department which already lacks manpower he is at the same time is taking away from what little resources they have to protect him.

    ReplyDelete

    1. oh, whine whine. a bloated and over priced police department that soaks up a full 25% of the entire city budget doesn't think it has enough money. maybe we need a few more helicopters, a few more cops whose only job is to organize youth rec leagues and play basketball.

      Delete
    2. Sorry, but what price would put on your safety? I agree that certain positions on the police department shouldn't be there unless officer's are willing to volunteer their time for those things like sporting leagues. But without a doubt more officer's are needed in the streets. The helicopter is a very vital tool to catching criminals.

      Delete
    3. 1133, if it's so essential to have, why don't any other departments have one? And why does KCMO have no better crime rates than any surrounding cities that don't have a helicopter? The police don't protect anyone. They come AFTER the crime happens. Quit making excuses for mismanagement and waste. The "public safety" argument is really just cover for more taxpayer money without any accountability.

      Delete
    4. The KCPD helicopter serves the entire metro area and not just the city of Kansas City. Btw, crime took a significant drop in Kansas City last year. And you'll never know what crime they do prevent from being a deterrent because they don't keep stats on crimes that haven't been committed you dummy.

I still want to believe that we are a society of law abiding citizens first. The person or persons alleged to be making threats are the whack jobs.

I would like to know where our activist judges that were so quick to declare same gender marriage the law in conflict with a public vote and why those same whack jobs are not so quick to rule S'lie "out of bounds" on his taxes not being paid being an item that disqualifies him from re-election?

  31. 11:33 I don't support writing blank checks in the name of "Security". If we need more officers working on violent crime, then move officers from traffic patrol.

the truth is more money and more officers does not mean less crime.

    ReplyDelete
  32. You know what they could do is make his security an undercover operation by changing the cop sitting on the house to a DUI checkpoint. There could be matching Federal Funds available. And the alleged criminals would walk right into that trap.

  35. JUST THE FACTS, MA'AM

    1) Recently, Mayor James has been under the most negative publicity in a very long time due to his tax issues. Even the cheerleaders like Yael publicly scolded him.

    2) Chief Forte works in alliance with the Mayor, would like to see him re-elected, and is not above stretching the facts to help a brother out, while insinuating that his department received a "credible" threat.

    3) The local business/political machine definitely wants Mayor Sly continuing in office for another 4 years.

Conclusion: A supporter of the Mayor (possibly political consultant, staff member, etc.) sent an untraceable email making a threat, to dissuade the recent criticism of the Mayor.

The very fact that a threat was disseminated speaks to it's false intentions. Someone who actually intended harm wouldn't warn in advance.

So, we have timing, intention, and motive, all pointing towards chicanery. I call bullshit!

    ReplyDelete
  36. Yup- soon as TONY posted that Story about his TAX Problems , I said , be like him to somehow create a DIVERSION / False Flag to get the attention / publicity away from his TAX Problem issue, and onto some other FALSE FLAG issue with him, that would allow him to stay in office, Illegally .

This is how Corrupteers think too !

Almost like how ol' Capone would try a stunt like this !

    Sounds good tho,,, huh ????

so, it must be True then huh ????

Truth be known, somebody from the TAX Office probably called and asked Sly, when ya gonna PAY YOUR TAXES ???????

That may be considered a Threat to some Dimwits !!!!

Next, something else will happen to stir his TAX Problem issue away from him,,,, need another Diversion / False Flag

Wait and see,,, but I betcha , give it a few more weeks or somethin' !

WHY was TONY the only person to report on the Mayors TAX Problem issue ?????????????

Ya know NOT 1 KC TV media station would touch on it , whats that tell ya ????

Corruption at the core with those TV Stations !

Yet their all over this phony False Flag issue all of em' , their right on top of it too.

But the FACT the Mayor did pay his TAXES,,, ummmmm their no where to be found , simply amazing !

  38. Read about it next month n' da newspapa4/20/15, 1:13 PM

    Charter Requirements
Sec. 207. - Forfeiture of office.

Required forfeiture of office. A member of the Council, including the Mayor, shall forfeit office if the member:
(5)Fails to possess the qualifications specified in this Charter to be elected to office

    Which includes -Current on all city taxes or municipal user fees, as attested by the candidate to the City Clerk in a form prescribed by the Director of Finance;

The Charter reads SHALL on the forfeiture language. It is fair to say that any citizen could sue to have this section enforced. That would then be a ministerial duty of the City to proceed with removal.

  39. Conclusion: A supporter of the Mayor (possibly political consultant, staff member, etc.) sent an untraceable email making a threat, to dissuade the recent criticism of the Mayor.

  45. Meanwhile, KC's local media who all but stayed silent on Mayor James' tax delinquency, which legally requires him to forfeit office, almost universally ran with the story of a credible death threat supposedly made against him!!

More evidence of malfeasance and collusion amongst City Hall, KCPD, and media.

Easy prediction: the "credible" threat can't be traced to anyone or originating from any particular source.

"2) Chief Forte works in alliance with the Mayor, would like to see him re-elected, and is not above stretching the facts to help a brother out, while insinuating that his department received a "credible" threat." Here's the problem, Sly is out to screw Forte. Who do you think leaked out the piece about Forte's pay? Sly's boys that's who. Divert attention away from the tax issue growing each day that won't go away. In the end how much of an issue is it that the police chief has overtime pay coming? I would hope to hell the police chief of a major U.S. city has overtime pay.

If a city official is in violation of the city charter, who is required to enforce the forfeiture of office?
If someone in the city government has that responsibility, why hasn't it been done?
Something is rotten in the city of Kansas City.
