A fire dude arrest has some denizens of the Kansas City Public safety community burning with rage.

KMBC: Anthony Mots was taken into custody on April 12 in the 7700 block of Kansas Avenue just after 6:30 p.m. (ON SUSPICION OF BATTERY, according to authorities . . . Fire Station 20 is located on that block.

It was Captain Mots who Assaulted the female.firefighter at station #20 on Sunday April 12th. Mots and this female firefighter were romantically involved and had a heated argument that morning when Mots physically assaulted her. She wound up in the hospital and Mots wound up in jail. He was released the next day but faces charges. This happened while both Mots and the female firefighter were on duty and in the station.

Wagons are already circling. We have been warned to keep our mouths shut about this and not talk publically about it. We were told that we weren't there and if we talk about it, we are spreading rumors and would be disciplined. He used a city fire department vehicle to drive from the station that he was working at that day, to the station that she was working at and ended up assaulting her and sending her to the hospital. He wound up in jail.

ReplyDeleteI know hard to fathom but majority do uphold the trust as they are SWORN to legal and moral oaths. The bad apples diminish public trust and marr the department morale. and the tax payers get stuck for extra costs-paid suspensions, suits and settlements. Sadly, the criminals do sometimes wear a badge.

KANSAS CITY, Kan. - A Wyandotte County Sheriff's Deputy lost his job and faces a criminal charge, accused of using his law enforcement resources to snoop on his ex-wife.
"It's something I've done for other deputies over the six years I've worked there," Dawn Nelson said. "And it wasn't just me. Other clerks run things for deputies all the time."
Dawn Nelson said she was "amazed" when she heard about the criminal charges, saying other people had been in trouble for inappropriate background searches, but not been fired.
"There are other deputies and lieutenants who run their ex-wives or their boyfriends. Happens all the time," he said. "So why are they making an example out of me?"
