WELCOME TO THE SEASON OF KANSAS CITY HOTSPOT DRIVER CHECKPOINTS!!!

Police say this random car stop patrol was to prevent car crashes but we could be seeing a new trend that drivers in Kansas City must endure - High crime area checkpoints . . . License Checkpoints in Kansas City

  1. Check Points are good, blacks loose on the streets killing is bad.

Besides when you put your signature on that drivers licence you waive your right to not hand over that licence when a officer of the law asks for it when you are operating a motor vehicle.

    1. Superdave you need to ask the law school you attended for a refund. A good school would have taught you that while your signature does require you to hand over your license when asked the police must still have cause to ask you. Police departments are testing the boundaries of what is cause.

    2. Or superdave could just quit talking about that which he knows not and leave the law to the professionals. He and Chuck can have an ass wiping part with the constitution that should get them off

  8. Ok you idiots who want to give the Super one some shit about showing your license.

The ACLU says, Upon request, show police your driver's license, registration and proof of insurance. Sobriety checkpoints — also known as DUI checkpoints — are the most common roadblocks you might encounter. They function as a general purpose investigatory tactic where police can get a close look at passing motorists by detaining them briefly. A roadblock stop is quick, but it gives police a chance to check tags and licenses, while also giving officers a quick whiff of the driver’s breath and a chance to peer into the vehicle for a moment.

Information-seeking checkpoints are an important tool for law enforcement. Witnesses may not realize that they have useful information.Notifying drivers about crimes may be the only way to reach potential witnesses in some cases. However, agencies should diligently follow the Court's guidance during checkpoints (stops without individualized suspicion) to avoid converting a useful law enforcement tool into an unreasonable (and therefore unconstitutional) stop.
