I am honored and humbled today to receive the support of Dee Evans. For decades, Mrs. Evans has worked to build stronger neighborhoods, provide resources for senior citizens, and to ensure safer neighborhoods in the core of our city. Throughout our campaign and on the council, I plan to continue her work and to call on my friend for guidance and counsel as we build an even stronger Kansas City, one neighborhood at a time.

    You always have to scratch your head when someone like Dee Evans is cited for all the great work she supposedly has done in the community with great strides in neighborhoods, public safety, and all the rest.
    Then you go trying to find even a hint of all this success and come up completely empty-handed.
    Twenty murders so far this year in KCMO in the very part of the community all this great work has been done.
    Don't folks understand that giving each other awards for nothing is supposed to stay limited to the swells at the Chamber of Commerce?

    It's a racket! The con that these people put up is priceless. No questions. No answers. We'll keep piling on the illusory accomplishments. Same is true of Mr. Lucas. Give three cheers for the black man who can actually read, is somewhat articulate and you have recipe for the same old shuck and jive routine we see on display from Mayor Sly.
