The Kansas City Conversation This Week

Take a look at Kansas City political discourse this week and the top newsmakers sharing their insights.

First up, Ruckus and Yael either changing his mind about leaving the show or a really poor pundit disguise.

Topics for this political discussion: "Mike Shanin interviews former Johnson County Commission Chair Annabeth Surbaugh. Then, Yael Abouhalkah, Steve Mirakian, Mary O'Halloran and Gwen Grant discuss the new plans for the future of the King Louie building, the reasons for the Kansas City Star endorsement of Sly James in the KCMO Mayor's race and the strengths and weaknesses of presidential candidate Ted Cruz."

And then . . .

The top newsies in Kansas City talk about the issues that defined the week on WIR . . .

Topics include: The mayoral debate, the west bottoms prison and Gov. Brownback talk.

Always remember, even better then what pundits and politicos think is the opinion of the public on their attempt to persuade.

More in a bit . . .

Comments

  1. Funny the way everyone except Mary said goodbye to Yael in a nice, but "we're glad to see the last of you" way. Mary said nothing about Yael. Perhaps she'll be next.

  2. Yael made a mistake.

He was already less relevant by way of his position in a decreasing medium.

  3. Yael stating that Kay Barnes did great things for this city makes me puke in my mouth. This tool has no idea how to quantify what good results actually look like.

    Convention hotels downtown? Idiots.

  4. I think Yael made the right move for once. He is correct the new format is horrible. It smells of paid off pr for the first segment. Get back to the panel. Yael was way better than Gwen or Mary as the liberal voice. Get rid of those two ladies, get rid of the first segment, and bring back Yael.

  5. Reading the posts on this site from the misogynists to the bigots, to the dolt that jerks off while rear ending something, makes it surprising that the insights of this blog are not taken into account by KCPT.

    Sure.

  6. The whole show needs to be deep-sixed. KCWIR is one hundred times better. All the Ruckettes do is try to outtalk and overtalk each other, and Shanin is the worst.

  7. There Gwen Grant goes again putting her worthless $0.02 in where it doesn't belong. She knows nothing about Overland Park, its culture or expectations. Please STFU!
