2. Is being 100% paid for by the Fourth District, which by itself and without help from any other district, is also subsidizing the Northland.
3. Is something every other city in the universe has. Even those on Mars.
4. Will magically and mysterically create tens of thousands--maybe hundreds of thousands of jobs downtown. Maybe even millions.
5. Is supported by someone who passed the Mensa test and is, therefore, smarter than you, me and all the other rubes. Especially sub rubes.
6. Is opposed only by those who are being paid off by the Koch brothers, Rex Sinquefield or Vladimir Putin (provided you're willing to accept rubles) or who have an illegally fenced-in yard, a loading dock, or some other equally nefarious ill-gotten illegal perk to protect. There is not one person in this city without ulterior motives who has examined the wisdom of bringing 1940s technology back to 21st Century Kansas City and has come up with a logical or economical reason to oppose the streetcar; therefore, the Kochs, Rex and Vlad are solely responsible for the 60-40 vote against the streetcar as no one who did not get a payoff would vote against such a sensible solution to Kansas City's transportation needs. And certainly none of its supporters have a vested interest in seeing the streetcar forced on Kansas City whether they want it or not. (Pay no attention to the termed-out clowncilperson behind the curtain who'll be needing a job come summer or BNIM and other potential contractors--they have absolutely no vested interest in the project. Nope. None at all.)

ReplyDeleteIf there is any racial bias it is in Eric Holder's office where he seems to have forgotten what the Attorney General's job is. Here we have a report coming from the number one law enforcement officer in the nation and the report is so fucking credible that not one god damn federal charge was filed to back any of it up. If Ferguson was doing all the shit that appeared in Holder's trumped up report then why didn't the racist son of a bitch file even one Federal charge as Attorney General of the United States. Instead of an unbiased investigation followed by prosecution the nation gets some Buckwheat class editorializing by the one guy who is responsible to insure the integrity of the Justice Department. What a chump mother fucker Holder has turned out to be by stirring a pile of bullshit that he himself is too gutless to prosecute in a single Federal Court in this country. DOJ includes the FBI, BATF (Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms), and DEA (Drug Enforcement Administration), has 114,000 employees, and a budget of $27 billion. It has gained 9,000 employees during Mr. Holder’s tenure. DOJ ladles out hundreds of millions of dollars in grants to police departments, so it has great power over local law enforcement as well.
ReplyDeleteSince Mr. Holder has run the department, 56 percent of all the lawyers it has hired have come from just four lefty organizations: the ACLU, National Council of La Raza, NAACP, Mexican American Legal Defense and Education Fund, and the Lawyer’s Committee for Civil Rights. Many of these lawyers make no secret of their view that anti-discrimination laws do not protect whites.
The head of the Civil Rights Division under Mr. Obama, Thomas Perez, specialized in “disparate impact” suits. These are based on the theory that a practice that is racially neutral can still be illegal if it tends to disadvantage non-whites, that is to say, has a “disparate impact” on them. Showing disparate impact is much easier than proving deliberate discrimination, and Mr. Perez forced many banks into expensive settlements because they were not willing to fight long court battles–but then insisted that a portion of their fines go to lefty organizations such as ACORN that have tormented banks for years. There is some question about the legality of forcing plaintiffs to give money to organizations that were not even parties to a suit.
