  2. Our surefooted handling of this should announce to entrepreneurial creative millennials that KC is a beacon of progressive thought and leadership.

Seriously, this town could find a way to fuck up a two car funeral.

  5. Yeah super progressive City Hall.

  6. Great News. Uber will pay the fees and pass on the cost to consumers. Consumers lose, regulators win.... nothing new.

  7. They're right about one thing. Political contributions translates into public policy. Sly James leads a dictatorship where democracy should exist. We have the power to kick this loser to the curb on April 7, 2015. I'm hoping voters take advantage of this opportunity.

  8. The only thing city Hall is progressive about is sending letters to Jeff city. Sly has scrwed the techies. Not just uber.

  12. Uber is nothing more then a digital parasite attempting to attach itself to whatever host is willing to let's it's life blood be sucked.

  13. Uber drivers in that 41 video look like they are at a hearing to determine if they will be given parole.

  14. Uber’s acting head of finance Gupta is a former Goldman Sachs VP. He's anxious to score that IPO this year. Tech "companies" excel at fleecing investors, as well as others.

  15. Uber has raised more than $5 billion in funding. LMAO think about that. A stupid freaking phone app.

  19. Want to do business in Kansas City, pay for the business license! Why do they think they are special? It is the same fee they charge everyone else but somehow they are exempt? They are conducting business, their care is their office and thus they should be licensed.

  20. Uber looks bad3/27/15, 10:14 AM

8:20 I agree. Who else gets to operate a business without a business license, permits where required or other operational costs? All other similar forms of transportation have to pay and their meters are set by the city. Uber can charge whatever they feel like on a trip by trip basis. I am not against them but their whining about having to comply with the same regulations a legitimate business has to comply with makes them look, well, like a scam.

  21. I was at the meeting watching them read their public testimony that UBER gives them. Not all, but some. I particularly liked the lady who claimed to be a rider and was reading from her cell phone like the other Ubers and wearing their t-shirt. All very coincidental. I don't know that's there's anything wrong with being given talking points but the fake back stories are maybe going too far. I have a Uber driving friend and he showed me the suggested testimony that was sent to him. My friend got his permit and is legal. They should too.
