TKC QUESTION: CAN JOE REARDON KEEP KANSAS CITY PUBLIC TRANSIT SAFE?!?!

More than politics or pushing forward the toy train streetcar that keeps getting voted down. There's a more important question out there right now . . . Given recent bus shootings and continued violence downtown . . .

THE QUESTION REALLY CONFRONTING NEW KANSAS CITY TRANSIT DUDE JOE REARDON IS THIS: WHAT'S HE GOING TO DO IN ORDER TO SECURE LOCAL PUBLIC TRANSIT DENIZENS?!?!?

Like it or not, so far only an East side rev has answered this question with any kind of plan . . . Now it's up to this executive to offer a more detailed answer.

Developing . . .

Comments

  1. There'll be at least one murder on the toy train the first year. The thugs will be quick to make those trains THEIR territory

  2. What he's going to do is collect a $250,000 check and accomplish nothing.

    ReplyDelete
  3. Reardon will rear end the taxpayers. This is the only skill required to be in the James Administration.

    ReplyDelete
  4. He'll say downtown dwellers are greeting the toy train with flowers and candy. The flowers and candy security initiative.

    ReplyDelete
  5. Historians will no doubt look back someday wondering in puzzlement about how this particular CK Empire of Grift managed to keep itself going.

    ReplyDelete
  6. He'll put cardboard cutouts of Alonzo on each toy train for security.

    ReplyDelete
  7. Armour Plate all the buses serving the ghetto and permit drivers to carry a 45 automatic.

    ReplyDelete
  8. Paint Google Rainbow Bunnies on the buses to keep the thugs and killers away.

  9. Dumb ass post.

  10. Locked and cocked! KCMO is a war zone.

  11. Tony usually is racing ahead of the pack when the starting gun goes off in the morning for the first lap and then crosses the finish line last huffing and puffing when the race concludes in the evening. He needs to learn to pace himself.

  12. Ah that explains these most recent dumb ass posts thanks.

  14. All Joe needs to do is look at his own legacy of safe streets over in KCK.

    LMAO!

  15. Real major cities have transit police to control the vermin who prey on commuters but that cost money, something CK no longer has.

    ReplyDelete
  16. Thats it. Give out free ice cream sammiches' and google rainbow bunnies to the unfortunate!

    ReplyDelete
  17. This is a "thinker" question and I think what it really means is that KCMO is screwed beyond all repair.

I didn't have to think about it much. I just had to remind myself that Reardon wanted on the dole just like his buddy at the helm of the UG right now.

Kansas City health clinics face funding cuts from city

He said the fire department's ambulance services is what's driving up costs. Between overtime and a lack of revenue collection, the fire department keeps needing more money.

"The fire department needs to get its overtime in order. The city can't afford millions and millions of dollars. This is now projected to be the third year in a row for substantial overtime," Ford explained.

    ReplyDelete
  20. How bout the Fire Department doing transit security. All voluntary. No overtime. If they need to shoot some kid waving a gun they can pump him full of lead then rush up and do paramedic duty.

Kind of a two for one deal.

  22. Overtime is a planning and management issue and requires leadership, management, and oversight.
Since none of those basic factors are a part of the KCMO city government mix, this problem will continue and may even grow.
The elected folks are way too busy celebrating their own celebrity and living life large on the taxpayers' dime to worry about such trivia as trying to run the city.
And it will become clear soon enough just how much in debt and spending have been run up.
Right after the election; just like Brownback in Kansas.

    ReplyDelete
  23. My guess is move some emergency taxpayer money to put into some kind of expensive idiotic study.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Outsource security to out of state "outfits" like they did with the water department and other services so they can continue to pretend and make it look like they are actually getting something done.

  26. Taxpayers are carrying the weight 75% of that money losing Party District downtown. Shift some of that disposable cash into transit security?

    ReplyDelete
  27. I think most of that has vanished and is being protected in Cordish's offshore account in the Caymans 7:24. Have to dream up some other scam to ream the taxpayers out of their cash.

  28. Best security is to examine all the black plastic trash bags city hall hauls off in vans to undisclosed locations. The ones put out on the curb needn't be checked.

  32. "It's on my mind today as I enter into the position, and it will always be critical to the decisions we make and the strategies that we form," Reardon said.

Blah blah blah strategy this strategy that buh blah, buh blah ...

  33. Need the equivalent of "Air Marshals" on the bus ... plain-clothes officers, randomly riding, watching for problems.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Reardon is an idiot as are the commissioners who voted him into the position.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Jeez and we thought this clusterfuck couldn't get any worse?

  38. What a fuckin joke.

The Liberals, who in conjunction with 14% of the 100% vote, that 14% being the BLACK vote (Pew report reveals that 74% of Hispanics always vote Democratic and that doesn't count the illegal votes.) run our fucking lives and suck the life out of the middle class (FUCK THEM, THEY ARE WHITE!!!) will make sure, that public transit is an example for the world as is going to be.

The violence, the excuses, then, after you dumb fuckin liberal, "I am hanging on Eric Holder's Ball Sack" scum, see your own daughter, wife, neighbor, et al raped in their front yard, in YOUR neighborhood (Mary O'Halloran in Prairie Village), then, you sanctimonious fucks, you will see the truth, the blood, the dystopia you have wrought.

Coward scum. Just like the KC Star and the MSM.

  39. For those playing the home version of "McClatchy KerPlunk", last night in this space we wrote:

    HEAR YE! HEAR YE!

    READ ALL ABOUT IT!

The McClatchy Company (MNI), parent of the Kansas City Star, has signaled an intention to retest it's 52-week low stock price of $2.45/share seen on February 2, 2015.

With a Tuesday closing price of $2.54, if the $2.45 level fails to provide support over the next few days, how low will it sink?

Before it has a chance to possibly rebound in coming weeks, the next several days could be a case of bleeding ink!

    52-week range of $2.45--7.39
    YTD -23.49 percent
    Past year -47.08 percent

(Note: there are a number of good people who do exemplary work at the Star, however, the Editorial Board is sinking the entire ship and that's a pity.)

    2/17/15, 11:08 PM
    ........

Well, as expected, MNI hit a new 52-week low on Wednesday, down to $2.43/share intraday. If it fails to hold the $2.45 level into Thursday's close, the red ink should bleed lower. But how low? The problem with breaking multi-year price lows is that when you lose your base support, you can easily step off into freefall! Let's place an initial short-term target at $2.25

I see a lot of frustration on this comment thread. I guess you people aren't very happy to live in KC. It sounds like a pretty miserable place where you can't even ride the bus. Go figure.

  45. JOE REARDON isn't going to do shit other than collect a fat paycheck each week.
