Long story short . . . The Gov. skipped over Kansas City in the Missouri budget on the topic of stadium debt service funding. That rather bland story hit the Interents two weeks ago.
But here's the good part . . .
TKC TIPSTERS TELL US THAT JACKSON COUNTY EXEC MIKE SANDERS IS TAKING A HUGE POLITICAL HIT FROM HIS COLLEAGUES AMID THIS BUDGET MESS!!!
In a mostly skipped over Prof. Kraske column . . . Exec Mike says that "we'll get it worked out" but then fails to mention anybody he's working with in the Legislature to accomplish that task.
TKC FACT CHECK: EXEC MIKE SANDERS HASN'T DONE MUCH TO STAY CONNECTED WITH KANSAS CITY DEMOCRATS IN JEFF CITY!!!
In his own County, Sen. Paul LeVota, Rep. Gail McCann Beatty and Rep. John Rizzo are on the budget committee . . . Insiders tell us that the Exec hasn't done much to coordinate with those elected officials and he's really going to be the Governor to give JaxCo the cash.

"This screw up concerning Jackson County Sports Authority funding may not be the only problem that Skippy Sanders will have to "work out" in Jeff City. Sanders has run off the real "County Executive."
"Until late last year, Sanders relied on his Chief Administrative Officer Fred Siems to match budgetary needs with legislative requests. (I bet you thought that the County Executive was the Chief Administrative Officer?) Sanders ran Siems off to make Cathy Jolly happy. No one over at the courthouse has Siems ability to keep track of the budget and work with the legislature. Certainly not Cathy Jolly."
