The Independence, MO outpost for a local BBQ institution goes up in flames overnight and the Indy FD was hampered in their attempt to save the establishment.
KSHB: Overnight fire burns down Gates Bar-B-Q in Independence
Deets:
"Battalion Chief, Mike Ditamore said crews arrived at the scene at about 1 a.m. after an employee called in the fire. Ditamore said the employee spotted the fire around the hood system.
"Crews spent an hour trying to put the fire out. Ditamore said a water pressure problem also hindered efforts, so crews had to go up a block to tap into another hydrant."
On the bright side, this was the least favorite Gates location for local BBQ aficionados and this place was always "edge" given that the staff didn't really know how to interact with the Missouri clientele who didn't seem to appreciate the local culinary legacy. The burn down is a sad bit of biz news but not a great loss to local BBQ fans.
Developing . . .
Must of been time for a remodel
ReplyDeleteNothing like a little midnight insurance scam.
ReplyDeleteSounds like the Methtown FD do not do basic maintenance checks on hydrants?
ReplyDeleteMethtown FD is a joke, it is bad when a civilian knows the NFPA book better than the FD does.
ReplyDeleteWhats the insurance payout.
ReplyDeleteAfrican American Lighting?
ReplyDeleteSale on burnt ends...
ReplyDeleteUntil very recently, Theresa Garza Ruiz hosted campaign events at that Gates location because it was the closest one to her house ... in Blue Springs.
ReplyDeleteToo bad Ollie.
ReplyDeleteNow on your knees to suck some Polar Bear cock, you asshole Negroid fuck.
I would of ran in there and saved some slabs out the smoker.
ReplyDeleteIs is nice to know that the firemen were able to munch down on plenty of ribs before finding water. They were going to claim they had to dig a well, but since they could scarf pretty fast they went with the hydrant story.
