Now . . . Forget for a moment that the decline in homicides last year coincides with significant change in the data collection process.
If we really are "One KC" and we want to take a big picture look at what's really happening on the ground in Kansas City . . .
THERE WASN'T ANY DISCUSSION OF KANSAS CITY CRIME MOVING ACROSS THE STATE LINE AND NOW PICKING OFF SOFT TARGETS IN JOHNSON COUNTY!!!
Oak Park Mall, a Shawnee gun shop and countless car break-ins during the winter have locals seeing a Kansas City crime wave moving west.
Moreover . . . Crime displacement has been a longstanding complaint of neighboring cities but there's no way to have that conversation in polite company.
Still, the questions about KC NOVA are nice and intended to tout progress for a community that still doesn't feel safe, questions crime numbers constantly in flux and probably correct to remain skeptical of politicos amid election season.

ReplyDeleteThe Police Dept is an ad hoc organization and holding the COP's feet to the fire, when comparing the number of homicides last year to this year is a straw man effort, to lead the viewer away from the actual necrosis, the African American Hip/Hop/Holocaust of death, that permeates that same community and is aided and abetted by Liberal, Progressive whites who make bank off of dead African Americans.
At 3:31 the Mayor speaks about the lower number of homicides in KC.

At 6:30, the Chief begins to talk about "Our Culture" when he speaks of crime prevention. He mentions "relationships" with offenders and making more officers of the KCPD go out into the community.

ReplyDeleteNothing is perfect, but it is a light on the process and that is far more important than the mayor and the Police Chief trying to control the PR fallout from videos that reveal the real time interaction between the police and citizens.
It will not be perfect, but it will, categorically cut through the fucking bullshit and reveal the truth a light year better than the systems in place now.
The folks who don't want cameras on cops, are afraid of the truth and the loss of income that would result in that truth.
At 22:30, the Chief plays the fucking race card and says the blame for a lack of minority participation in the police force is a "White Dominated Culture" in the police Department.

All over America for 30 to 40 years, managers and owners have, without ANY incentive, have tried to hire, keep and make happy, African American employees.
In the electronics industry, where I worked, if you could fog a fuckin mirror and were black, we hired your ass, from soup to nuts, from retail to distribution and representative. This is exactly the same for any and everyone I know and knew for 30 years.

My favorite comment was when Forte was discussing recruiting more minority officers, basically saying blacks want black officers in "our" neighborhoods. He gave the impression he lives in one of these neighborhoods, when in fact he lives as far away from the ghetto as possible. Literally almost Lees Summit. And the problem with retention on KCPD is not just a minority issue. Officers of all colors are fleeing the department due to the abuse they suffer under the command staff. If you are a hard charging go getter, you are sure to be shit on constantly. If you are a lazy fuck with not an ounce of police ability, you will rise quickly through the ranks.Forte is a complete mess, and the idiots he has promoted to assist him have almost destroyed the department. And Sly is just a shit eaten sack of crap. Seriously, only in KC would a huckster lawyer named Sly get elected mayor. Big surprise he is going through tax payer money like a sailor at a whore house.

There was once a horrific tractor trailer accident on one of our local PA interstates, and the individual trapped inside the tractor was burning alive in front of the witnesses, they tried to open the door to the tractor, but it was stuck. All they could do was stand there and listen to the driver scream in horror and watch her claw at the windows.
I hate to say it, but as racist as I am- if I could have saved that person from death I would have regardless of their race. In spite of what some "antis" might think, I wouldn't be standing there laughing my ass off at it.
This comes from someone who is indifferent to the old black and white lynching pictures of yesteryear, and could easily be one of the ones standing in those photos gawking at a hung Negro.
I can't stand the black race, but I also can't stand needless suffering (that does not include starving AIDS infected Africans who refuse to help themselves), which is why my previous employment took place in a hospice setting.
This would never get in the way of Positive Action though. If/when the race war breaks out into the streets, my mind would go into war mode and all bets are off, my conscience would go from White to ice.
I believe helping others is a "white thing"- we *generally* don't like to see chaos and destruction, that's why we have the best nations on Earth. For me though, it's only when the situation is very extreme that I would become involved.
The worst thing anyone can do is mistake kindness for weakness, and I think that's an all too common attitude toward the White Race from other Races.
If I was lying on a street dying, I'd expect a Negro or smelly fucking Mexican to first rifle through my pockets and loot off me whatever they could before calling for help, if they would even do that much.
