Kansas City E-Tax Time Again

Sad to report that it's tax time again in Kansas City and that means the last remaining Johnson County denizens still working within the city limits will be complaining louder than ever.

Like it or not, the E-Tax earns a lion's share of the KCMO budget and it's the biggest target of tax fighters throughout the nation.

Accordingly, here's a link to all the Kansas City tax payment info for those of us who don't set policy.

As the e-tax election moves closer, expect increasing debate but for now tax fighters are content to simply remind locals that the e-tax is the key component in making the pitch to businesses to move across the state line.

  1. Like the toy train tax district, the e-tax will be renewed because a lot of people who will have to pay the tax do not get to vote. Inevitably, little by little, those whose wages are being milked will relocate themselves and their jobs away from KCMO. What will happen then? See: "Detroit."

  2. If they have millions to waste on a toy train, City Hall can do without the earnings tax.

  3. The old argument, make JoCo pay; doesn't work anymore. The jobs in KCMO are gone.

  4. There needs to be better and more concerted opposition to this tax from the grassroots up. Knocking on doors-getting serious. Anything can be defeated!
