KANSAS CITY POLITICAL BLAME GAME 2015: LISTEN CLOSELY TO MAYOR SLY AND INCUMBENTS SHIFT RESPONSIBILITY!!!

Listening to so many politicos over the past few days, a pattern is starting to emerge that other KICK-ASS INSIDERS have also deciphered.

To wit . . .

LISTEN CLOSELY TO MAYOR SLY AND INCUMBENT COUNCIL MEMBERS TAKING ADVICE FROM CONSULTANTS AND BLAMING FORMER MAYOR FUNKHOUSER FOR THEIR FAILINGS!!!

We'll explain . . .

We haven't heard much about former Mayor Funky in quite awhile but over the past week Mayor Sly and some of his closest buddies have brought him up time and time again. . . Insiders say:

"They were briefed by a few hacks about how to boost their popularity and name-dropping Funkhouser was an easy fix because he still polls so negatively. It's a petty trick but it works and it's just part of why they're paying these consultants so much money."

The ploy is obvious and stinks of easily decipherable Beltway politics to most longtime political denizens.

But it's worth calling out . . . OF COURSE MAYOR FUNKY WAS HORRIBLE but it's fun to see Mayor Sly and his friends using him as a rather low standard to surpass.

Another consultant fingerprint . . .

MAYOR SLY AND HIS PALS ARE BLAMING THE RECESSION FOR KANSAS CITY'S BUSTED BUDGET!!!

Mayor Sly and his pals aren't talking about their MASSIVE SPENDING SPREE AND HOW THEY'VE RAISED TAXES MORE THAN HALF A DOZENS TIMES IN THE PAST FOUR YEARS . . . Instead elected officials are blaming an economic downturn two years ago for KCMO's tenuous financial future. By the way . . . ONLY OUR TKC BLOG COMMUNITY has reported on the General Obligation Property Tax Ask coming up right after the election.

Last one . . .

MAYOR SLY IS CALLING HIS STREETCAR OPPOSITION "STRAIGHT UP LIARS" FOR HANDING HIM AN EMBARRASSING DEFEAT!!!

This one isn't politics, it's a peek behind the curtain and a reminder that Kansas City's top politico isn't really such a nice guy when it comes to people who ask him questions.

We respect a handful of politicos who aren't using these tired excuses as a crutch for a lack of achievement during their tenure.

Sadly, local media isn't picking up on these obvious talking points that are replacing a real conversation about the future of Kansas City because elected officials can't do their own thinking and hack reporters, cronies and pundits are too afraid to call them out on it.

Developing . . .

  1. So, you're saying we still don't want the Funk?

  3. I agree with TKC. The STAR has not covered any of the recent candidate screenings, thus failing in their role to educate the public. Do they really serve a useful public function?

I don't think Mark would have supported the Toy Train.

Besides, I'm the family scapegoat. Its my function to assume any blame that might of otherwise fallen on him. So, all of this incompetence at city hall is my fault (& Gloria's of course.) I'm also responsible for the recession.

  5. If the recession is the culprit and not punks, thugs, crime, shitty infrastructure, earnings tax, no convention business, etc., the why has the city been building pet projects instead of courting jobs that aren't minimum wage and working to build business?

  6. Sylvester and the House of Cousins may sail to an easy victory, or maybe not, but either way they better be prepared for running into a lot more brick wall then they did in 2014.

  7. Sly's campaign contributor list will read like a who’s who of trolley supporters.

  8. Look at the bright side. Incumbents Russ Johnson and Cindy Circo are ineligible to run for reelection due to term limits.

    It's a beautiful thing

  9. Both funky and sly had kids at Holliday Montessori, just a fun fact. Too bad politics always has to get nasty. They aren't really bad people.

  10. I don't recall Funk saying KC lacks talent and we're going to have to import it. Or in order to survive we'll need to give the boot to the so called "old people" who've been here their entire lives so we can replace them with parentally subsidized funemployed kidults who's only goal life is an internet connection.

  11. "Straight up liars?" Now that's someone who is gracious in defeat.

  12. Byron's usual, "It's all about me" commentary, sans the usual BS about evil whites.

Byron wants to move to Foongeville Station.

    ReplyDelete
  13. Sly is a black man and well we all know niggers lie about everything. As for that sheep shagger Byron you can have his ass get him out of here.

    ReplyDelete
  14. Well, DeJanes and Burke and Tony and Touhey and Coffee and Bushnell and Freedom did straight up fucking lie about the streetcar. On record. Demonstrably. Repeatingly.

And they are still lying now.

Remember when they promised us a magical free bus plan to everywhere that ran all the time and did "everything" a streetcar did, like spur 250 million dollars of directly attributable development before it even starts operating.

Are you getting paid per comment nowadays Staubio?

  16. There will be plenty of opportunities to challenge me on the "lies" that were promoted by SMARTKC.

I am prepared to back everything up.

For the record, I had the privilege of hosting a councilman and a representative from SMARTKC at a neighborhood meeting. The councilman (who I will not name) went out of his way to spin and confuse the issues when he was asked very direct questions about how the tax would unfairly impact specific areas of the city.

    1. Unfair like how the downtown to plaza corridor would have been subsidizing 90% of the cost of a proven transit and redevelopment tool built 60% on the east side, where little development or reinvestment has ever occurred, but where modern effective transit is an obvious need?

It unfair like how the downtown to waldo taxbase subsidizes the idea structure needs of the east side with it's depopulated and depleted taxbase and the southern suburbs and the northland with its unsustainable sprawl and constant whining about how it "deserves" to have miles and miles roads, sidewalks, sewers that it's population can not pay for?

Maybe they didn't teach you what "fair" means in cartoonist school. Apparently they didn't teach you what "huck" or "patsy" means either. Let me help you elLyin', when ppl who are smarter than you trick into doing their, bidding, you are one...

Meanwhile all your smartkc buddies like Dejanes and Coffey seem to have forgotten just how much they cares about the "po folk" and "slavery" and all that east if Troost, and freedom is on to it's next shakedown and bushnell is back to playing grand Torino.

And your left holding the dipshit stick, running for council in a district that doesn't agree with the anti-KC ethos of your puppet masters.

  17. HACK REPORTERS? Pardon me, but you MUST be referring to the KC Star.

Fael Abracadabra has done his best to inform everyone that there's no possibility of successfully challenging Mayor James. This is the exact OPPOSITE of what an honest journalist would strive to do. And he wonders why so many citizens are apathetic and disillusioned!

Steve Kraske was just writing, or actually bashing, the Koch Brothers and Rex Sinquefield again. Strangely absent were his equally critical comments concerning the campaign contribution largesse of left-leaning folks like George Soros, Michael Bloomberg, Tom Steyer, James Simons, and Fred Eychaner, all of whom personally contributed much more than either of the Koch's or Sinquefield.

    see: https://www.opensecrets.org/overview/topindivs.php

Readers must clearly understand that nearly ALL writing for the KC Star is done by strongly partisan left-leaning Democrats. The frequency and repetitive nature of their propaganda is astoundingly strident, bordering on hateful paranoia. It is the reason, dear reader, why the McClatchy Company will soon cease to exist, as they're totally out-of-balance and in disharmony.

  18. "Remember when they promised us a magical free bus plan to everywhere that ran all the time and did "everything" a streetcar did, like spur 250 million dollars of directly attributable development before it even starts operating."

This sounds remarkably similar to the claims of the $1 Billion the streetcar, which is supposedly at break even before it's even constructed has brought in.

A free bus that runs all the time on current routes is more useful than an expensive tax draining free streetcar that runs from River Market to Crown Center.

  19. Funk was bad because he let his idiot wife get involved which made him an idiot. Unfortunately the Sly man is not much better, maybe actually worse, it just seems better because the Funk stunk.

  20. Evidently people were smarter than you think, 7:25. At least 60% were.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Yup, nothing says "SMART" like economic stagnation, depopulation, an eroding taxbase, usustainable development, and backwards thinking! Sure glad we are committed to keeping those stinky young people and their stinky economic growth, and their wierdo flannel out of our awesome 1984-era city! The past is the future! Why would anyone want to live in a place where people actually want to live?

    ReplyDelete
  22. And you'll correct all that's "wrong" with Kansas City with a...streetcar! Right.
