BULLETS ON THE BUS DON'T BODE WELL FOR KANSAS CITY TOY TRAIN STREETCAR!!!

The increasing Kansas City quotient of violence once again impacts local transit.

ALSO, THIS LATEST INSTANCE OF SOUTH KANSAS CITY BLUE RIDGE BLVD VIOLENCE NEAR THE 7-11 SHOULD DEMONSTRATE THAT WE HAVE A NEW LOCAL HOTSPOT IN THE MAKING!!1

Here's more info on the recent Kansas City bus stop shooting rampage:

Fox4: The shooting that happened inside a city bus on Wednesday night in the area of of 106th and Blue Ridge.

KMBC: The man ran off the bus and was heading toward the 7-Eleven store near 106th Street and Blue Ridge Boulevard. He left the gun behind on the bus. The 7-Eleven store is the one where 6-year-old Angel Hooper was killed in a drive-by shooting in October. It is also where Alexis Kane, 14, was last seen meeting an online acquaintance hours before she was killed earlier this month.

KSHB: Although there were passengers on the bus at the time, no one was struck on the bus. The suspect fled the scene, and no information on the suspect is available at this time.

  2. Jeez, is Blue Ridge trying to take the MLK of KC away from Benton Blvd? Lot of shit going on there the last couple of years. I'm sure the primates will ruin Paul's Drive-in.

  3. Yeah, lets get that line to run straight through the neighborhoods west of Ward Parkway where all those big city liberals live.

  4. Seems like they could just make that 7-11 a police substation.

  6. The Bureau of Transportation Statistics reports crime by transit mode. When those numbers are compared with passenger miles by transit mode, it turns out that light-rail riders are far more likely to be victims of crime than bus riders. Light-rail riders are three times as likely to be raped or sexually assaulted, twice as likely to suffer aggravated assault, and five times as likely to be robbed as bus riders. Yet anyone who points this out is apparently “fear mongering.” Streetcars aren’t exactly the same as light rail, but they share one feature that buses don’t have: the driver is often in a separate compartment from the passengers, so can’t do as good a job monitoring passenger behavior.
