TKC BREAKING NEWS!!! KANSAS CITY CATHOLIC PRIEST SEX ABUSE SCANDAL VICTIMS SHARE EPIC $10 MILLION SETTLEMENT FOR CHRISTMAS!!!

Here's a recent statement involving Kansas City Catholic shame that should have the faithful cursing the heavens during this time of holiday cheer that has actually proven to the be winter of our discontent.

Anyhoo . . .

VICTIMS AND VICTORS IN THE RECENT KANSAS CITY CATHOLIC PRIEST SEX ABUSE SCANDAL SETTLEMENT ARE SHARING THEIR $10 MILLION THIS CHRISTMAS AND CELEBRATING THEIR WINNING!!!

Here's the word . . .

Just now from SNAP: Settlement checks come for abuse victims in time for Xmas

"Dozens of Kansas City men and women who were sexually assaulted as children by priests have received their settlement checks, just in time for Christmas. And it what’s being called “an unprecedented act of generosity,” they are essentially sharing millions equally and including in the settlement three other victims whose cases were tossed out on legal technicalities.

“In my 25 years of work on the church’s abuse crisis, I’ve never seen anything like this,” said David Clohessy of St. Louis, SNAP’s director. “These incredibly kind victims agreed to divide their almost $10 million settlement basically equally and with three other survivors whose cases had already lost because their abuse happened away from church property so they had no legal standing whatsoever. We are so impressed by and so grateful to these incredible individuals.”"

In November, almost 30 adults resolved their civil abuse and cover up lawsuits against the KC Missouri diocese and its bishop, Robert Finn - Who was also involved in a legal battle that ended with a deal to take a misdemeanor conviction. They were represented by KC attorney Rebecca Randles.

And while this controversy seems to have concluded this year . . . There's still a great deal of leftover rage that hopes and prays that the Pope might get involved in ongoing Kansas City Catholic controversy.

  1. That is a lot of cash for the holidays. The sharing is nice but I'm not sure it will help so many in need that will go without now that Catholic Charities is going broke because of horrible mistakes from the hierarchy.

  5. Have not donated one red cent to the church as long as Bishop Finn remains in power. He has been inaccessible, aloof and power mad in his position. It is my opinion that he should resign from his post for the good of the Church if we have any hope of moving forward after this debacle.

  10. Many of the victims have waited 30 or more years for some justice in this cancer in the church. It was widespread, it ruined lives and for many of us some closure has come. Having met almost all of the other plaintiffs, I can say that all of us would rather have no settlement if it meant we could somehow make what happened to us not have happened. Bishop Finn needs to quietly resign or he will be publicly humiliated even more than he already has. Many of us would consider coming back to the church but not until new leadership is installed. It is time to close this chapter and clean house and start building the new diocese. Any kind of sexual abuse is horrible but when it is perpetrated by a spiritual leader on a child it always has devastating results. Bringing these lawsuits to trial and/or settlement has helped prevent this from ever happening in the future. Happy new Year everyone.
