THE MOST KICK-ASS TKC TIPSTERS WARN US THAT FORMER JACKSON COUNTY EXEC KATHERYN SHIELDS IS TALKING TO ALL THE RIGHT PEOPLE ABOUT THE KANSAS CITY 4TH DISTRICT AT-LARGE COUNCIL RACE!!!
Katheryn Shields didn't leave things very well at the County but they say that time heals all wounds IN ADDITION TO THE FACT that her connections are still intact and stronger than ever.
Moreover . . .
Like it or not, the last bit of public bickering faced by Ms. Shields was her surprising win over the Feds in a home mortgage ruckus.
Remember: Federal Jurors Find Shields and Cardarella "Not Guilty"
Ms. Shields didn't fare well in her Mayoral run last time around but the landscape has changed since that point and Former Mayor Funkhouser reminded everybody that voting is a waste of time.
Currently, Katheryn Shields is taking one meeting after the next and she enjoyed a warm embrace from so many people @ The Curls & Curls holiday party.
Fair play . . .We heard the Curls & Curls gathering enjoyed overwhelming attendance and participation from just about every top ranking politico in the Kansas City area. Like it or not, the event was a great success.
Now . . .
Only Council Dude Glover reelection stands in the way of Katheryn Shields stepping back into the limelight of local politics.
While Councilman Glover has GREAT NAME RECOGNITION, it's a fact that he's a notoriously bad campaigner and hates the fundraising/glad-handing part of the process. Councilman Glover has always excelled at behind the scenes deal-making and never the low-rent celebrity aspect of local politics.

The KCMO Jabba image is apropos given that a new Star Wars movie is on the way and despite the fact that Ms. Shields has trimmed down quite a bit and seems to be @ "Fighting weight" for her possibly contentious council contest.
Again, this NEWS OF A KATHERYN SHIELDS COMEBACK WILL SET INSIDERS ABUZZ and it's something to carefully consider now and then again next year when the mainstream newsies pretend they "reported" this fact with their ancient journalism rituals that are mostly focused on excluding as many people as possible from the Kansas City discourse. Natch.
Either way . . . Our bloggy community is FIRST WITH THIS FUN FACT and now we need to consider the implications of a Katheryn Shields comeback.

You are right to be nicer to her this time around TKC. She has a lot of money behind her and she could easily take this election by 10 points or more, if she works it. Then again, the Feds never like taking a loss.

Our organization has received two fundraising appeals from Glover. The first was forwarded to us by email and the wording was at best disjointed. He did not even have the common curtesy to look up our email address and then follow up with a phone call. Then a month or so later we received a letter. It looked pretty but when you sat down and read the text, it was the same lame impersonal appeal. Just send me money. Again, we have not received as much as a phone call from that guy. Ms. Shields will push this guy over with a feather. Glover is rude and lazy.
