TKC BREAKING AND EXCLUSIVE NEWS!!! KANSAS CITY 5TH DISTRICT BACKLASH AGAINST MAYOR SLY POWER GRAB REPLACEMENT COMMISSION!!! VOTER GROUP SEYZ: 'LEAVE THE SEAT VACANT!!!'

Right now we have 1st word from a Kansas City EMERGENCY community meeting tonight.

To wit . . .

RESIDENTS REFUSE THE KANSAS CITY POWER GRAB FROM MAYOR SLY JAMES!!!

There has been pushback from throughout the community regarding this commission since it was announced late Friday.

Here's the word . . .

"Ok, here's the skinny. District 5 residents are totally pissed at Sly James and Cindy Circo for their power play to appoint the 5th District replacement for Michael Brooks. There will be petitions circulating tomorrow to be registered Wed to have the ordinance 141091 that was passed Thursday to be repealed. The consensus I heard was that if they don't let 5th district have "REAL" input into the replacement then we'd be better off leaving the seat vacant until the election. Basically 5th district is sick and tired of the city hall bullsh*t and wants some real representation. This could be an important election. No More Excuses Neighborhood Coalition sponsored the meeting this evening. There will a 2nd meeting next Monday evening at 6:00 at St. Theresa church on Euclid."

The Mayor bending the charter over this is about to break the patience of this community now at the boiling point after years of ineffective representation.

UPDATE: Tonight . . . Fox4 has the official write-up with testimony from the meeting: 5th District residents rebuke plan of commission appointing Brooks’ replacement on city council

  1. When you drill down, Sly James actually has very little support in neighborhoods. He doesn't visit anywhere but Downtown anymore.

  2. Crooks, all of them! Sly will go down as the most corrupt Mayor in Kansas City history AND will carry the legacy of The Train To Nowhere with him!

  3. I want to be fair to Sly. The Charter isn't specific on this one, he might be doing a power grab but we all know that he prefers a strong Mayor form of government. If the council isn't going to challenge him on it. Then it is OUR fault for voting for them.

  4. Don't these "insiders" that put their name to nothing, know that "anonymous" does not get you credibility?

    Rhetorical, of course.

Now, the self loathing shit head.

  7. Anyone asking or blogging for a special election is an idiot because doing so would violate the Charter.

  9. Where does it say "Mayor and Cindy Circo"?

  10. Nobody wants to admit that Rev Brooks was the Crazy Aunt In The Basement all the years he's been in office. So Sly James rolled up his sleeves and said he would take care of it.

  11. No one seemed to mind when George Blackwood was appointed to fill Jim Rowland's seat after Rowland left to join the Jax Co. Sports authority. Why is this so different?

  12. Chicken pics and strangling chicks is less honorable than working for the Jaz Co Sports Authority?

  13. And these are the same people that when left to choose a council member on their own picked Michael Brooks?

    ReplyDelete
  14. Now where is the fucking ACLU? Off somewhere blowing smoke up some high school kids ass about her rights at a school assembly while the crooks run the city into the ground?

  15. @10:37 TGR does not live in the 5th district!

  16. Mayor and council are fulfilling their duty by appointing a replacement. To not do so would leave the 5th district without representation.
Any activist worth their salt would get into the mayor's office and make sure that the appointed council member is somebody that will at least show up to meetings and not beat up their staff. Pretty low bar.

  17. Maybe they can appoint east side activists like sherry "the fence" Dejanes or Dan "sojourner truth" Coffey.
Their commitment to the east side is proven and has never waiveres after they prevented the largest investment in the east side in the history of the city!
