SUCCESS!!! JACKSON COUNTY POWER BROKER STEVE BOUGH CONFIRMED AS FEDERAL JUDGE DESPITE 'CRUDE' BLOG!!!
Technically, I think this counts as a Kansas City blogger win . . .
However, it's really the Kansas City political elite who are doing their touch down dance this morning.
Steve Bough is a long time political power broker who is friends with just about everybody from County Exec Mike Sanders, to Claire McCaskill and even a bit of unpublicized collabo with Kansas City Mayor Sly James.
Despite some serious objections to his online ranting from Sen. Chuck Grassley reported only in KCMO by our bloggy community . . . Bough will be a Fed Judge . . .
Better be careful talking trash on him now because I'm pretty sure those guys can call the CIA and get all of the top secret info from anybody who isn't wearing a tin-foil helmet. And don't even get me started about the rectal re-hydration techniques that top U.S. politicos mostly approve . . .
But I digress . . .
The is a big deal for Bough but nobody else really . . . As a Fed Judge he's mostly out of the KCMO political game and now onto a bigger pond as a lifer-judge where people might not be impressed with the ability to dominate Kansas City lower voter turnout elections.

The Hill: Grassley is particularly aggrieved over the nomination of Stephen Bough to serve as district judge for the Western District of Missouri. Unlike the other nominees, Bough was reported to the floor in September.

ReplyDeleteThis is a big deal for Bough but nobody else, you say? Tony, kudos on having a modicum of success with your blog, but you really still fail to appreciate a lot of things. This is a big deal for the multitudes who end up in federal court, be it litigants or lawyers. For the past decade plus, the federal bench has been primarily populated by moronic lazy psychopaths (Fenner, Kays, Gaitan, Whipple as the worst examples), and finally the court is slowly evolving back to where people can fairly and honestly get their day in court.
