MUST READ!!! CHIEF FORTÉ WARNS KANSAS CITY POLICE RANK & FILE: "BE SAFE AND BE VIGILANT" AMID SEASON OF UNREST AND IN THE AFTERMATH OF NYC COP KILLING!!!

Here's what is probably the most important statement from a public official in Kansas City today . . .

KCMO Police Chief Darryl Forté responds to NYC officer shooting deaths

Money line:

"We're under more scrutiny than ever before. We know that there is tension in the community, there is the potential for [a police shooting] to happen any place," he said.

His message to Kansas City police officers Sunday afternoon was clear.

"We’re telling our officers to continue to be safe and be vigilant of your surroundings,” Forte said.

This weekend, police throughout the nation have been shocked by the NYC killing and the Kansas City response seems to stress and understanding betwixt local police and protesters on the street.

"Forte has encouraged demonstrators to continue be respectful and to continue to get their message out.

"Just continue to protest peacefully, we're listening to you," he said."

You decide . . . Is this the best Kansas City reax to recent unrest and spirited threats against and now deadly violence against the police amid this Winter of discontent???

Moreover . . . Do recent protests threaten to unravel progress KCPD touts in building improved community relations which many claim has reduced the Kansas City homicide rate this year???

Developing . . .

  12. Liberal media promoting protests and gay hipster kids who protest not knowing what the real world is actually like or more importantly what the HOOD is like are stupid. The crazys that what to cause death and murder are the real problem.

  13. The real world is long prison conditions, Veteran suicides at 18 per day, high unemployment, little access to education. The State must no longer continue putting this kind of pressure in the US & Mexico.

  16. The cop killer was also mad at his girlfriend whom he killed before killing others and then himself. A month back a sniper killed a Pennsylvania Cop, wounding another. Don't know what the cop count is for the year but usually about 50, another 50 are killed for fucking somebody's girlfriend. Meanwhile, three were shot over at 24 & Hardesty yesterday, don't know if they were police informants at this time.

  17. Cops kill about 1500 people a year while another 5000 people die in prison every year.

  18. I commend the Chief, he has done a good job preventing violence for everyone. But we must do better.

  20. Message for KCPD officers and all law enforcement professional. They protest you, they are calling for your killings, so when they call for help, stay where you are at. Let these people experience the uncivilized communities they make excuses for and blame on society, and when nobody comes to their rescue and they have to defend theirselves, they surely will come to the realization that Police professionals are the answer to removing the lawless scum that feeds off good people who are being lied to and manuplitated by our local and national leaders.

  24. Dear Mr. Tony: Thanks for posting this info. The Chief continues to do a good job of "walking the fine line" of assuring his officers that he will support them against unfair charges while simultaneously assuring the minority communities that he is willing to listen to their grievances. Incidentally, please tell Toni Bones that celebrities and football players are now all wearing NYPD logo in solidarity with the slain officers--she may be in the process of being "yesterday's cause." Take care!! Sincerely and REspectfully, Ernest Evans

  25. On a previous posting regarding the protesters at Mall of America, a comment was taking exception to the notion that what they were doing was a form of violence. This person apparently was under the notion that violence had to involve something along the lines of shooting, assaulting, or some type of physical act against another.

So, this got me thinking once again about the real likelihood of the protesters having low IQ's. Now, my point this time is not to poke fun at these misguided souls, but rather to highlight a few rather obvious discrepancies in their actions.

If you mistakenly believe that law enforcement was primarily responsible for the deaths of Michael Brown(MO) and Eric Garner (NY), it must be that you have failed to educate yourself concerning these cases. Either that, or perhaps you are blatantly anti-civil society, anti-law and order, and pro-crime. Both of these deceased individuals were breaking the law in the minutes prior to their deaths, failed to heed lawful orders from a police officer, resisted arrest, and had a history of prior arrests. They died as a result of their own actions. If you wish to protest something, you should be protesting the false distorted memorializations of these two men who were not exemplary citizens.

Now, as for the Mall of America protesters whose goal was to shut down the mega-mall on one of the busiest shopping days of the year, let's explore what might have been the result, had they been successful. Even those with lower IQ's can hopefully follow this sequence:

    1) Protesters block entrances to parking lots, the mall itself, or lay down in mass making foot traffic impossible.
    2) Their numbers prohibit law enforcement from rapidly clearing the obstructions, and practically all commerce grinds to a halt for the day, or longer.
    3) This means that nearly all the middle and lower-class people who work at the mall are sent home and don't get paid for the unworked hours.
    4) The merchandise, services, food and entertainment, which would have been sold on this day become unsold goods, which means new stock isn't ordered, which means those in distribution/manufacturing will feel the repercussion.
    5) The city and state receive no sales tax revenue from the unsold goods and services. Maybe they try to raise your taxes, or cut staffing to make up the shortfall.
    6) Ironically, who potentially benefits from the protest? Whose services are suddenly in higher demand? That's correct, the police! The very people targeted by the protesters! Suddenly, officers are being asked to work overtime to deal with the unexpected and time-consuming protests. Don't you appreciate how ignorant protesters wind up doing the opposite of their objective?

Have you ever heard what these protesters hope to accomplish? Me neither!
Seriously, what is it they want? Do they want all criminals released from incarceration? Take guns away from law enforcement? Eliminate police departments? Eliminate our legal system, and turn society into a free for all? This is where their low IQ's are conspiculously present, as evidenced by a lack of clear strategy, tactics, and goals.

Now, you didn't hear it from me, but those who are serious about attempting social change and are willing to risk the consequences, might want to: a) publicly state a concise goal b) clearly and effectively use the media to promote your cause c) target decision makers who ultimately must implement your goal into law d) under no circumstance act in a manner repellant to the middle/lower classes whose support you'll need
    e) and finally, adhere to the principles of non-violence.

So, will I see you blocking my shopping mall and loathe you, or will I see you camped out at the homes of Governor Nixon, Senator McCaskill, Senator Blunt?

  27. The number of cops killed on the job last year was right around 100, the lowest it has been since around 1941, I believe. This year the number is, again if I remember correctly, 123. So we've had one heck of an increase in cop murders in 2014.

VIOLENCE (n): the use of physical force to harm someone, to damage property, etc.

    ReplyDelete
  30. 11:58 wrong, check the stats. That number is higher because more cops are dying from heart attacks because they are out of shape. That and more cops are killing cops in "training" exercises.

  31. So Tony? What did you say Forte is running for?
