Kansas City has picked up the tab for embattled Council dude Brooks to represent the 5th District at the National League of Cities conference over the weekend.
However . . . Here's the word among more than a few Kansas City insiders . . .
ALMOST NOBODY HAS SEEN COUNCIL DUDE BROOKS THIS WEEKEND AS THE CURRENT CHOKING SCANDAL HAS HIM TAKING A VERY LOW PROFILE!!!
Usually, the shameless preacher and Council dude makes sure to get in front of the camera, especially in this kind of civic booster environment with no real media contact.
Sadly, once again the residents of the 5th District get little to no representation while their elected official is busy dealing with much bigger problems.

ReplyDeleteThat's how all Kansas City Councilpeople spend taxpayer money. Sign up for boring symposiums and then don't show - use it as an all expense paid vacay. That's the only real reason people go into politics.You can travel freely without recourse and who will know usually? Nobody. This isn't a new phenomenon... just one exposed by somebody else out to nail it to Brooks. Maybe give the guy a break. There are other Black ministers faaaaar more sinister than Brooks - See J.M. Miles - the Arkansas hood posing as a scholar and dignitary.

I think what we have here is mounting evidence of just how much Rev Brooks is a piss poor elected official, bless his heart.
It also looks like folks are just damned tired of him and won't give him a pass for taking a free trip on the taxpayers' dime. Now that makes them a better public servant.
What is the best is if the Council would call for a hearing to get down to the full truth of the allegations against Brooks.
Mr. Tony why do we still fund the Red Flag Auditor? Seriously. Not one peep from the guy. And I never saw the final report on Funkhouser using city resources in what may have been a dubious manner.
