Missouri House Rep. Brandon Ellington was recently elected as the Chair of the Missouri Legislative Black Caucus and his first high profile action is impressive and hopes to bring peace to a tense situation in the making.

Restorative justice is an approach to justice that focuses on the needs of the victims and the offenders, as well as the involved community, instead of satisfying abstract legal principles or punishing the offender. Victims take an active role in the process, while offenders are encouraged to take responsibility for their actions, "to repair the harm they've done—by apologizing, returning stolen money, or community service".

(Jefferson City)-We are requesting that the city of Ferguson establishes a restorative justice plan in lieu of municipal fines for the non-violent protesters that have been arrested. Many of the citizens that were arrested were detained in violation of their constitutionally protected rights such as the right to assemble, right of freedom of speech and the right of freedom of the press. We are fully aware that not all of the citizens that were arrested were participating in the nonviolent protest nor, are we requesting that their charges are dropped. However, we are also aware that there were several civil rights violations as well as procedural violations such as officers removing their name tags and badge numbers, citizens being forced to protest in moving processions that resulted in arrests for those who failed to comply, members of the media arrested for documenting aggressive police behavior, tear gas being shot into crowds of citizens observing and or protesting non-violently.
As legislators we are required to take an oath of office to abide by the constitution and we take these constitutional violations seriously. It is our desire to work with the local officials of Ferguson, the Mayor, the city council, the city manager and the prosecutor to address the civil rights violations as well as the Federal Bureau of Investigation (F.B.I.). regional branch in Missouri in conjunction with the Department Of Justice to ensure that citizens constitutional rights are being protected.

ReplyDeleteWhat a bunch of fucking ass clouns. The story should be headlined as, "Cowardly Missouri Black Caucus Refuses to Introduce Legislation to Update Use of Force Laws". Unfucking believable that these derelicts sit in the very chamber that passed the current laws under which Wilson was operating, but are too fucking apathetic or stupid to change the law. Instead they point the finger at everyone else when it was these very ass hats that passed current use of force legislation. What a fucking bunch of jokers. ReplyDelete(Jefferson City)-We are requesting that the city of Ferguson (White Devil) establishes a restoration hardware plan in lieu of municipal fines for the non-violent protesters (broke-ass) that have been arrested. Many of the citizens (thugs) that were arrested were detained (sheltered and fed) in violation of their constitutionally protected rights, and as such, are entitled to forty (40) acres and a mule.
We are fully aware that not all of the citizens (hooligans)that were arrested were participating in the nonviolent protest (looting) nor, are we requesting that their charges are dropped, we demand that only black protestors (entitled wards of state) have their charges dropped.
We are also aware that there were several civil rights violations (enforcement of law) as well as procedural violations (did not coddle) such as officers removing their name tags and badge numbers (putting on a flak jacket), citizens being forced to protest in moving processions (forced to exercise)that resulted in arrests for those who failed to comply (resisted arrest), members of the media (clowns) arrested for documenting aggressive police behavior (doing their job), tear gas being shot into crowds of citizens observing and or protesting non-violently (throwing Molotov cocktails). In order to satisfactorily remedy these transgressions, we demand that all white police officers who took part in such aforementioned offenses be hanged by the neck until dead.
As legislators we are required to take an oath of office to abide by the constitution and we take these constitutional violations seriously, when, and only when, members of a non-black race are involved. It is our desire to work with (extort) the local officials of Ferguson, the Mayor, the city council, the city manager and the prosecutor to address the civil rights violations as well as the Federal Bureau of Investigation (F.B.I.) regional branch in Missouri in conjunction with the Department Of Justice (Holder's Hacks) to ensure that citizens constitutional rights are being protected (blacks are designated as a protected endangered class).
At least give the man some credit for stepping up to the plate. Others have remained silent.
ReplyDeleteWe've got a Kansas City state rep tending to business which does not affect him or his constituents in Kansas City, Missouri. It would be nice if Kansas City had elected that actually championed their interest rather than trying to share in the limelight of another unfortunate situation.

ReplyDeleteAt least Ellington actually bothered to go to Ferguson shortly after Brown was killed. He actually spent time talking to protesters. He's not the media white some if these people are. I hate the idea of separatist groups but I'm white so when I say that I usually get a lecture. Rolls eyes.
