There are a great many Kansas City politicos who would rather ignore the horrific charges facing Councilman Brooks than deal with reality of an emotionally charged City Hall workplace where many employees have expressed concerns about their personal safety.
Sadly, Kansas City politics is divided into so many factions that only polite cocktail party talk and upbeat press release initiatives get any traction or popular support. Careerists and corporate lawyers have assured that most elected officials in this town are far too afraid to take a stand.
In order to battle this constant paralysis, a few members from Kansas City's most powerful coalition of voters from the East side are sending a message loud and clear.

It's fair to remember that Freedom, Inc. opposed Councilman Brooks and the minister was barely able to squeak out a surprise victory in his first attempt at holding a major elected office. Now, political operatives have moved to block East Side clergy support for Pastor Brooks for this second scandalous accusation and they're are actively encouraging more candidates to enter into the effort to oust the embattled Pastor facing charges of choking his assistant at City Hall.

And throughout this hot mess the denizens of 5th District remain woefully underrepresented given that their councilman has been ostracized from not only other elected officials but also from any political support in Kansas City. The shameless politico and so-called "Man Of God" has yet to communicate any significant message on the matter to his constituents who largely regret their vote for the disgraced minister.

The 5th district is in a lot of trouble with these 2 for our representatives. We need to have a special election and boot them both out. I have never been so disappointed in our city government as I have been the past 2 years. Can't wait for spring and election time. I just pray there is someone honest out there that truly cares about their constituents to run. Anyone??????
