If they win tonight, do not expect this to be the start of a baseball dynasty in Kansas City when you consider who owns the team: David Glass. You have a team owner who is indifferent to the sport. This is not a baseball team for him, it is a revenue stream. Glass is the former chairman and CEO of Wal-Mart and he has run the baseball franchise like Wal-Mart. I am surprised the cheap bastard does not have Wal-Mart employee out there playing for $12 per hour.
ReplyDeleteIf the Royals win the series, it will have done so with young players who are not paid super star wages. When their contracts come up for negotiation, Glass will sell them off. He reminds me of Jake LaMotta in the movie Raging Bull taking the jewels out of his championship belt to sell them not realizing that that the whole belt with the jewels was more valuable than the jewels individually. That sound you hear is Mr. K turning over in his grave at what Glass has done to his team

I have lived here 14 years and they sucked all 14 years of my stay here, but who cant be proud that Kansas City had the chance for the world to see the truth about this city (a city full of losers), with that said lets look at the truth about this city in more detail that might not have made world news, first of all our city government sucks so bad and the citizens who vote allow this to continue, it amazes me how no one will buck up, but will go broke buying a royals ticket in the world series, so pathetic. Again the Royals have done great this year and gave the citizens of KC hope for a city of homicides, corrupt government, a shit mayor, and promises that in KC never come true, I will give props to the great stadium we have here in KC but it just goes to show you can bring in a street car, you can take 3 terminals at the airport down to one, and you can pump tons of tax dollars into a stadium but its all a gamble! you can change everything and anything but that wont necessarily make you a winner!
ReplyDelete10:39 Getting rid of Mast Ambulance made the city a winner, but with a corrupt government the stats of that will never come out, at least at a Royals game when something doesnt look right they can go back with video and see the truth, in Kansas City you will never know the the truth, but I too am very proud of our Royals you guys did an amazing job this year :)
