TKC EXCLUSIVE!!! KANSAS CITY ROYALS 'TAKE THE CROWN' DISGRACE!!! MSM HYPE MACHINE FRUSTRATES LOCALS AMID WORLD SERIES GAME 1 FAIL!!!

In the aftermath of a CRUSHING KANSAS CITY ROYALS GAME ONE DEFEAT it seems that the home team is in for a harder series than most had anticipated.

To wit . . .

BY THE LOOKS OF ALL THE FANS LEAVING THE GAME EARLY LAST NIGHT . . . KANSAS CITY HAS ALREADY BEEN DECEIVED BY THE MAINSTREAM MEDIA HYPE MACHINE!!!

To be fair, there's some really great coverage out there and this morning The New York Times offers a thoughtful missive on The Negro Leagues Baseball Museum.

BUT, the fact is that the home team wasn't just beaten last night . . . Kansas City was whipped and scourged decidedly and fans are already having serious doubts about the future.

Moreover . . .

Political adverts, 3/4ths of the game dedicated to Rob Lowe and of course the Peregrine's Homeland Security panty raid have proven distracting and have possibly cursed the team.

Never mind that the 1st game of the World Series has already caused Kansas City to forget about the 6-year-old girl gunned down over the weekend.

Outrageous ticket prices, so much dedication to merch and the overall mania this town is undergoing necessitates an important reminder . . .

THE KANSAS CITY ROYALS IN THE WORLD SERIES ISN'T A PUBLIC SERVICE . . . IT'S ONLY A GAME AND PART OF A BIG CORPORATE ENTERPRISE DEDICATED TO MAKING MONEY BY CREATING FANBOY HYSTERIA!!!

The economic impact is negligible, we've noted previously that the fanbase is mostly from the suburbs and the stix and now we're getting word of some rather bitter fans frustrated that they dropped a great deal of cash on a losing game.

Of course there's a lot of baseball left to play . . . But last night's game hopefully put this town's ROYALS-MANIA in perspective and hopefully awakened locals to the FACT that marketers, politicos and just about EVERYBODY is exploiting Royals hysteria while the team now faces some MAJOR challenges in overcoming a crushing defeat.

Developing . . .

  9. 10 Things About The U.S. News Media That They Do Not Want You To Know

#2 The news media is far more liberal than the American people.

We hear much about the supposed “conservative bias” of Fox News, but the truth is that overall the U.S. public considers the news media to be extremely liberal. Gallup found that 44 percent of all Americans consider the news media to be “too liberal”, and only 19 percent of all Americans consider the news media to be “too conservative”.

And it is a fact that “journalists” are far more likely to give money to Democrats than to Republicans. The following comes from an MSNBC report…

MSNBC.com identified 143 journalists who made political contributions from 2004 through the start of the 2008 campaign, according to the public records of the Federal Election Commission. Most of the newsroom checkbooks leaned to the left: 125 journalists gave to Democrats and liberal causes. Only 16 gave to Republicans. Two gave to both parties.

#8 Newspaper ad revenues are about a third of what they were back in the year 2000.

Yes, you read that correctly. As Americans have discarded the print versions of their newspapers, newspaper ad revenues have experienced a decline that is absolutely unprecedented…

It took a half century for annual newspaper print ad revenue to gradually increase from $20 billion in 1950 (adjusted for inflation in 2013 dollars) to $65.8 billion in 2000, and then it took only 12 years to go from $65.8 billion in ad revenues back to less than $20 billion in 2012, before falling further to $17.3 billion last year.

  10. Bumgarner is tough. Royals will be out for blood tonight though it will be a tough fight against the Giants who have several cy young award winners. Royals will be ready to snatch and grind.

  11. Only at TKC can getting to the World Series be referred to as a fail.

Only at TKC can one game be a crushing defeat...nobody died after all.

Only at TKC can unproven statements, totally lacking in factual basis, be stated as unequivocal fact ("the fan base is mostly from the suburbs," for example).

Only at TKC can common knowledge be an EXCLUSIVE!!!

So, Editor: There is always more and it is always worse.

  12. Can't put pricetag on it10/22/14, 12:15 PM

I see it differently. Anything that unites a community is a good thing. Often what unites us is an injustice or wrong. Today, we are untied by the wearing of Royals blue to support our team. We have something we can all be happy about. Whether or not we are "true fans", we like what is happening with our team. As a result, we talk to strangers on the street, in stores and resturants. That conversation is all good and we are in complete agreement. We are America's team and people are cheering for us. That makes all of us feel good. If you want to focus on how much money t-shirt makers or ticket scalpers make, that's your choice. If I could experience the same community unity that I have felt during the post season for the price of a t-shirt, I would gladly buy one every week. It is money well spent.

    1. Well said, but wasted words. TKC was heartbroken when we won, and will not cease to mock and celebrate when and if we lose. He's like a lifeform whose only food is schaudenfreude.

  13. One more thing and I'll shut up. People are getting together in their homes and local eating places to watch the game together. The generation gap is instantly bridged as we all speak the same baseball language. Families are going to the games or events together. KC is the place to be and I for one am glad I'm here.

  20. Didn't buy the $85.00 "Take the Crown" sweatshirt. It was sweet, but free ticket, and a paw rubbing on Cindy's ass was enough for any bear.

Shame the Royals " Big Game James" didn't get the message.

Nah, the bear copped some fine, warm ass, drank some expensive beer and saw a whole bunch of people having a shitty time watching their ROYALS being anything but.

It looked like many in the crowd were worried about how they were going to pay their credit card bill for those overpriced tickets to see a "seal beat down" last night. Thanks again, Cindy. That ass is smoking.
