TKC EXCLUSIVE AND BREAKING NEWS!!! KCRTA AGAINST BALLOT QUESTIONS 1 & 2 WITH WARNING OF IMMINENT TOY TRAIN EXPANSION DESPITE VOTER REBUKE!!!

Right now, let's look at the upcoming election issue in Kansas City along with yet another confirmation that Democracy doesn't really matter among toy train streetcar supporters.

Of course The Kansas City Regional Transit Alliance is correct to come out against a couple of zombie taxes created by the political gamesmanship of Mayor Sly & the Council.

However . . .

LOOK CLOSELY AND NOTICE TOY TRAIN CHEERLEADER ARROGANCE ABOUT THE FUTURE EXPANSION OF THE STREETCAR LINE DESPITE A RECENT LANDSLIDE DEFEAT!!!

Here's the curious passage . . .

"...downtown streetcar is under construction and sure to be expanded."

To which an AWESOME TKC TIPSTER responds . ..

"In KCMO no need to listen to the citizens, who said no in a big way when then had an opportunity to vote; but rather let's take care of the special interest groups. A sickening display of American democracy at its worst."

KCRTA opposes KCMO Questions 1 & 2 on the November 4 ballot

The Kansas City Regional Transit Alliance opposes Question 1 and 2 on the November 4 ballot in Kansas City, Missouri. After decades of lawsuits, questionable signature gathering, a wholesale attempt to steal the bus tax, and lack of community backing, we are ready to say goodbye to Clay Chastain's antics once and for all.

Our current City leadership is taking aggressive steps to improve our transit future. The downtown streetcar is under construction and sure to be expanded, serious work is underway to reinvent our local transit agency, and report after report chides our inability to connect people with jobs. Now is not the time to lose focus and chase the whimsy of a nonresident who claims to be interested in Kansas City's transit future. We have serious work to do with those who are at the table.

  3. And there's just nothing more important to the 2.5 million metro area residents, 80+% of who don't live in KCMO, much less downtown, than "our transit future".
Bring back Murphy's downtown cattle drive.
