ReplyDelete8:20, I've been there twice. Like all cities, there were interesting features and not so appealing ones. I do think the way the city rioted over the baseball game shows a lot of true colors. I also think west coast natives (perhaps you're one?)have delusions of superiority that aren't justified. And just as they thumb their noses at the midwest, the east coast thumbs theirs at the west coast. There's always a pecking order, you know. And yes, I'm a proud "hillbilly" whose grandparents summered in Dark Harbor, ME and that has traveled extensively both domestically and abroad on frequent flyer miles.
