Last night the Northland hosted a frightening hostage crisis that resulted in an officer involved shooting.
Report:
"At about 930 PM KCPD officers were dispatched to the CVS store at Vivion and North Brighton on a suspicious party. Other information received indicated that an armed robbery may be occurring.
When officers arrived they observed the suspect inside the store behind the counter with a store employee. The officers believed at this point that the suspect was threatening the employee with a weapon. The suspect, still holding the employee, then approached the officers who were near the front door.
The officers could then see that the suspect was holding a knife type object in his hand. The suspect then lunged toward one of the officers who then shot the suspect. Other officers then searched the remainder of the store where they located additional employees barricaded near the rear of the store.
The suspect was transported to a local hospital in serious condition. No employees or officers were injured."

ReplyDeleteYou know guys, i grew up in that area. It was a nice quiet place until most of the home owners started renting to whoever could afford the first months rent. Sad, really sad. I can being young and being able to walk to QT at anytime without worry. Nowdays, you can't leave at anytime without being armed.
