Here's some encouraging news and a newsletter statement from Kansas City Congressman Cleaver on his latest legislative work on jobs and assistance to local worker training facilities.

PUTTING PEOPLE BACK TO WORK
This week, I was very pleased to announce that the Office of Family Assistance within the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) awarded $1 million to the Full Employment Council (FEC) of Kansas City, as a 21st Century HealthCare Works Program grant project.
I am thrilled that the Full Employment Council is receiving this grant. The work they do to help put Kansas Citians back to work is essential to the health and wellbeing of so many families. These funds will aid job seekers through training and placement services, putting dedicated individuals back to work. We need these efforts here, in Missouri’s Fifth District, and all around the country.
The Full Employment Council operates as a business-led private non-profit corporation, serving residents in Cass, Clay, Jackson, Platte, and Ray Counties by assisting both job seekers and employers. The Council offers career counseling and goal guidance to job seekers, as well as best hiring practices and all-encompassing recruiting and screening aid for businesses and organizations looking to hire. In 2013 the FEC assisted nearly 50,000 people looking for employment and aided companies in hiring more than 25,000 people. ReplyDeletePlease! No more Obama job gains. The federal government just reported the best job gains since the economic crash of 2008. Unfortunately all those 60K to 80K jobs are now redilly available to green horns at $30K to 40K. When the government calculates somethig into the economy figures other than stock prices and how much the retailers bring in we might get a true picture of what is going on in this "improving" economy.

Clyde McQueen came up from Texas at the behest of Cleaver, Clyde McQueen couldn't find a sustainable job for Kansas citians if it didn't walk in the door and dress itself up for him.
ReplyDeleteShelly his VP couldn't work at a McDonalds asking customers if they wanted that order supersized without losing the job in the first week or do what she did with Clyde ... have his baby as she fucked her way to the top.
I love the numbers they get with WIA funding placing most people into jobs at tax season with HR Block, work until the WIA money runs out then they let them go, hire another 75 with the tax payers footing the bill under WIA, funds run out, let them go and do it again.
the training programs are the best, they get a middle man who hires a few nurses that teach nursing at UMKC to do classes at night certifying students to be nurses assistance (candy stripers) at $6,000 a pop (keep in mind you dont NEED to be certified to work at a nursing home wiping asses and changing beds) they get placed at 9-9.50 an hour after 6 weeks of training, quit then come back and look for jobs other than the one the tax payers paid $6000 to train them for (so much for health care jobs) thats just the short story of the FEC you wouldnt believe the long version

This is nothing more than the friends network in play. McQueen is a running buddy of the old Congressman. McQueen hires his friends and family with the money. Huge payouts to the circle of friends network and still thousand remain underemployed or unemployed at the expense of this very public display of graft.

I sent a client there who was looking for employees and I thought they might have some incentives for hiring their clients. Guess what? They left several messages and no one returned their calls. So I called and left a message that I had a client who is looking to hire some people and could you call me back. No call back. I doubt this grant is going to make a difference.
