GOP Radio Advert Against Kansas Senate Candidate Greg Orman Name Checks Netflix 'House Of Cards' Character Frank Underwood

First of all . . . Nobody is Kansas politics is as cool, talented, savvy and captivating as Kevin Spacey . . . But this political play might be worthwhile if only because it grabs the attention of Internet geeks in JoCo who search out political drama. TKC Full Disclosure: House Of Cards was a surprise fave if only because it seemed to accurately reflect the myopic, hopeless and hapless downward spiral of print journalism.

Also, in reality . . . It was Missouri Sen. Claire McCaskill who put Greg Orman into play, but the reality is much scarier than fiction.

  2. While I do not claim to be an expert on elections I do claim to be a keen observer of the process and with my extensive travels understand the people in this country. So here are are some of my thoughts.

In the house the GOP will gain more seats than expected. The main question is can Boehner retain control. He has been ineffective. He has to have support of the Tea Party which he doesn’t as of now.

I laugh when I think about Georgia. Georgia no longer exist. We have Atlanta which will go Dem and the rest of the state that will be GOP.
The deciding factor will be how many remember Jimmy Carter. If he opens his mouth the people will be reminded of the disaster of his presidency and vote GOP. The question is will the sane people of the state be able to overcome Atlanta. Frankly I don’t know.

Having lived and worked in Kentucky the Democrats have no chance. Louisville will vote strong Democrat because of the Black vote, University crowd plus Jerry Abrams former mayor and the only sane Democrat in the state will carry some weight although he has been relative silent. No way Jerry will strongly support the Disaster of Obama. If a Democrat wanders into Coal Country he better come armed.

Alaska never polls well. The Bush country people will not forget the disastrous environmental policies of the Dems. Sarah Palin still has substantial influence. I do not see this state in play. Solid GOP win.

The Democrats will probably win North Carolina. Charlotte will be strong Dem because of the heavy black population and the influence of the Banking Industry. The mountains will be strong GOP but East of Shelby there are pockets of heavy black population and the Research Triangle has become very liberal as well as the college communities. The Coastal area and rural areas will be GOP. The collapse of the textile industry and Obama’s disastrous trade policies will sway many to the GOP.

Arkansas will be GOP. They remember the trailer trash and disgrace the Clinton’s brought to their state plus Mike Huckabee has enormous influence.

Living in Kansas City on the Missouri side but having many friends on the Kansas side Roberts will win with a larger majority than expected. Orman will carry Johnson County, the most liberal and populous county plus Lawrence and Manhattan, the university communities. Manhattan will be closer than you think. Rural and western Kansas will be strong Roberts country. The thought of terrorist being housed at Leavenworth as Obama wants, scares the people and rightfully so I might add.

Lousiana will not be decided until after the run off however I see no way the Dems can survive. 85 percent of the Indp vote will go GOP in the run off.

Scott Walker is very popular and will sway the Wisc vote to a GOP victory.

Notice not once have I mentioned Obamacare, however this disaster will be the deciding factor in all the other contested races that are anywhere near close. Dick Morris, the pundit, predicted months ago the GOP would have 60 senate seats in the next congress. While even the most ardent GOPers laughed at his prediction it is now possible he is right. The one thing that will hold the GOP back is we have not yet rallied behind a Presidential Candidate for 2016. We need to thank Obama for this. His mental illness has assured us a majority. The only thing left is to vote. Vote early and OFTEN. The Democrats will. The GOP has survived the distortions of the News Media.
