For quite some time we've heard Northland complaints amid the perception and public info that a great deal of their police resources have been routed across the bridge in order to deal with "hotspots" plaza flash mob crowd control and other special events thereby leaving their communities unprotected.

KSHB: The man, described by the FBI as a light-complected black male standing approximately 6 feet tall and weighing 160-170 pounds, jumped on the counter and demanded cash from the Bank of Weston at 6510 NW Prairie View Road about 11:30 a.m.
KMBC: A man wearing a costume mask robs the Bank of Weston in the Northland Saturday morning.
Argue about motives but IT'S A FACT THAT KANSAS CITY NORTHLAND INSIDERS HAVE A LONGSTANDING COMPLAINT ABOUT THE ALLOCATION OF POLICE RESOURCES TO DEAL WITH HOTSPOT CRIME and this latest bank take down in a string of opportunistic crime gives credence to these concerns.

ReplyDeleteWhat's new? The Northland is huge and short on cops, but their taxes pay for the cops to police the crap neighborhoods.
ReplyDeleteThis contention stands in direct contrast to the prior theory mentioned on this site, that criminals are wary of doing their crimes up North, because the prosecutors have a reputation for being very strict versus Jackson County.

You get terrible ambulance coverage, terrible police coverage, barely adequate fire coverage, and everything this city does funnels all the northland tax money and resources to the inner city. It's tiresome.

Sadly, the Northland will be the next (and pretty much last) part of KC to fall. Once those wide, flat baboon noses start sniffin around, they'll find a cheap, dumpy place to rent , then it's off to the races to see how long before they show up in droves and ruin yet another formerly nice part of town.

Things were sure as hell better in this country when the mob was running things.
ReplyDeleteSome nights there are only 6 cops for north of the river and east of N.Oak. Sure there are more on paper, but vacations, sick time, injuries, and training lower those numbers. Northlanders are told to have their security companies call the Sheriff as they usually have quicker response times
