Not so long ago Kansas City united across racial and demographic lines in order to express peaceful protest solidarity with the Ferguson, Missouri uprising in the aftermath of the disputed killing of African-American teenager Michael Brown.
And now . . .
KANSAS CITY #FERGUSON PROTEST CONTINUES WITH A CALL FOR A LOCAL "BLACKOUT MONDAY" THAT SUPPORTS AFRICAN-AMERICAN BIZ AND IN REMEMBRANCE OF ALL MURDERED BLACK MEN, WOMEN AND CHILDREN!!!
Remember that we talked about this effort not so long ago and, sadly, the TKC BLOG COMMUNITY wasn't really receptive to the idea.
There was also some complaints about online promo that certainly needed a bit of polish.

Again, TKC doesn't see anything much wrong with this movement because people are entitled to spend their money however they'd like . . . Moreover, assuming that this effort is open to all residents of Kansas City, expanding shopping horizons throughout the metro is actually a really good idea in support of a social cause or simply to secure a diverse supply of vendors and biz contacts. Without being flaky at all, smart biz people realize that DIVERSIFICATION of any portfolio is essential.
So put down the chips, pick up the smartphone and continue Kansas City solidarity and support of diverse community shopping with just a hint of support for social justice.

While no one was hurt, a bullet from the battle was found by a news crew from KMOV-TV in the church school parking lot where the game was being played. About one hundred children and parents were reported to be at the opening game of the season.

I didn't have to worry about any young thugs riding bikes through the office supplies section, or listening to Floatequa tell Saprofia all about how work sucked on her Obamaphone. No unkempt rugrats roaming through the frozen food aisles with their hands down their shorts and nary a parent in sight. Like I said, great. Got what I needed and was out the door in 20 minutes. The checkout line went smoothly. You could even tell that the employees seemed more relaxed. They knew that no blacks = a lot less trouble.
We need more protests like this, Tony. In fact, I think we should have them every other day. Tell Alonzo he's welcome to start organizing the next one.
