MUST SEE!!! TAXPAYER FUNDED GLOBAL CLIMATE CHANGE MUSICAL KAPUT AFTER ONE SHOW IN KANSAS CITY!!!

Tragically, for taxpayers, it seems that Kansas City audiences aren't interested in musical drama on the topic global climate change.

The reviews are in and the Kansas City show was certainly a stinker even if it's message was important . . .

GLOBAL CLIMATE CHANGE MUSICAL "THE GREAT IMMENSITY" SHUT DOWN AFTER ONLY ONE PERFORMANCE ON THE ROAD IN KANSAS CITY!!!

It seems that this show struck a sour note with local theater patrons and now taxpayers will be stuck with the playbill.

Check it:

Taxpayer-funded global warming musical closes early amid bad reviews

"The Great Immensity, a musical described as “painfully long” and “awkward,” was made possible by a $697,177 grant from the National Science Foundation (NSF)."

Curtain, reviews come down on taxpayer-funded climate change musical

It's kinda like "The Producers" but not funny at all.

More deets:

"The play, which featured songs and video exploring Americans’ relationships to the environment, opened in New York in April with a three-week run before going on a national tour that was supposed to attract 75,000 patrons. But it stalled after a single production in Kansas City, falling short of the lofty goals outlined in a grant proposal. It was envisioned as a chance to create "an experience that would be part investigative journalism and part inventive theater,” help the public "better appreciate how science studies the Earth’s biosphere” and increase “public awareness, knowledge and engagement with science-related societal issues.”

And while theater-goers might not be prepared this bit of drama, weather newsies say Kansas City will get a second look at global climate change performance amid an upcoming possilby record breaking harsh winter.

  7. If you think this is a joke, just wait until you see how much the taxpayers are paying and for what at the new East Patrol Building.
There's just no end of ways for the KCMO political class to spend other people's money.

  8. Looked it up on YouTube. It's every bit as stupid and lame as the reviews say. It's about an apparently adult guy who fools around with a 15-year-old girl? Uh-huh. "Springtime for Hitler" with a cool new Pederasty R Us theme. These clowns got more than half a million of our dollars to do this? WTF? Holy shit!
