KMBC: Nearly two years after Kansas City Public Schools lost state accreditation, Superintendent Stephen Green predicts the district will fully get it back next year.
It's an important goal and certainly a sign of improvement from the current situation . . . But really only a step forward to where the KCPS was two years go. You decide if this represents progress in the grand scheme of things.

ReplyDeleteThis is NOT the first time the KCPS lost its accreditation, BUT I knew eventually like everything else that is as kansas city as bbq: just pretend it isn't happening or its going to change and people will naturally begin to believe the big fucking lie ..
I gave up on black people a long time ago. They will never improve. In 500 years the same bad things will be said about them and they will all be true.

The article was getting the school district accredited and I Hope it will. For the future. For ALL children. Better economic growth for the community and I simply called out varied racist. I sanctioned HOPE. Out of a history of despair.

We talk about accreditation as if it is an accomplishment rather than the minimum standard required to be called a school district. Classic case of what is wrong in this town.

ReplyDeleteThe school district can be accredited, given 5 gold stars, a blue ribbon and another pot of gold and it won't make one bit of difference. It will still be the same dysfunctional, violent, illiterate mess it is today (with itty, bitty pockets of normalcy that are being real quiet so they don't get beat up).

There is greatness and there is sharing your personal greatness with the world how little or big it might be. A smile can change a weeping soul. Laughter to a lonely spirit. this world is too big.
