KANSAS CITY ECONOMY STAYS LOSING!!!

Take a look at this reality check regarding the current state of the FAILING Kansas City economy that doesn't live up to the hype of the so-called "creative class" hype.

KC Biz Journal: Kansas City-area real GDP growth trails nation, region

Deets:

"On Tuesday, the U.S. Bureau of Economic Analysis released 2013 real gross domestic product figures for metropolitan areas. Real GDP in the Kansas City MSA grew 1.4 percent from 2012 to 2013, which lagged the rate of 2.5 percent for the Plains region and 1.7 percent for all U.S. metro areas."

And the real tragedy here is that our local saving grace is supposed to be THE TRAGIC DOWNTOWN TOY TRAIN STREETCAR that's unproven on based on mostly unsound and imaginary economic theory in order to garner very real construction and consulting contracts.

Developing . . .

  1. There is NO "saving grace" for Kansas City. It's a place where NIGGERS have taken over like a cancer cell and there is little room for anything else. You may wish to discuss all the platitudes of "all of us are equal"; however, the truth is in the results. NIGGERS destroy, they do NOT build or create. As long as these filthy creatures continue to dominate KC, there is just no hope.

  2. Shockingly, no one wants to move to a town full of fuddy duddy reactionaries who are scared of things like pubic transit infrastructure and development. Way to ensure KC's slide toward irrelevance. Prepare to get overtaken by Tulsa, Omaha, Indianapolis, etc., since Denver, Minneapolis, and Charlotte already left KC in the dust.

SMART, KC. Real fucking SMART. Way to not fall for those "fads" like public transit and investing in the core city. I bet stoopid ole places with those stinky trains and those stinky new buildings and those hipster/renter residents and their silly jobs and good economies are just kicking themselves, right about now and wishing they had super-SMART "grassroots" activists like Rex Sinquefield and Pat Touhey looking out for their towns...

    1. 525: do us all a favor by moving to Tulsa so you can laugh as your new city eclipses KC. And once you're there, settled in and comfy, fuck yourself.

  3. It’s especially gloomy in the food department, where the boxes of Lucky Charms and just about everything else are now half the weight and twice the price.

  5. ooh what else can we blame the streetcar for?

    Adnoids?

    Global warming?

The near insanity of Chuck Lowe?

    The price of beets?

    Why my beer is sour?

    The behavior of chickens?

    The acorn crop this year?

Once you try to blame something for everything, it winds up being responsible for nothing.

  9. The magic streetcar will solve all our problems. We'll have a bay just like San Francisco, Hollywood stars will come to live here, and Wall Street will relocate to Union Station. All we need is a new streetcar. Trust me. I passed the Mensa test!

  14. I just watched a guy take his newspaper from his own driveway and place it in his own recycle bin. That's whTs wrong with the local economy. Put some balance in the editorial board - get some original thinkers- and leave the social media commentator impressionistic navigators home. Quit hiring your friends and make purposeful qualitatives part of the process flow charting . Combination elusiveness is rational only in prioritized business.

  17. Well investing in 1880's technology is about as sophisticated as these 1950's acolytes are ever going to get. Sadly they keep winning political victories.

Who is going to run against them? I am ready to vote for a Juggalo over these clowns. Seriously. It would be better to have a government incapable of accomplishing anything rather than a government that is accomplishing bad, harmful things.

Can any of you find a SINGLE KCMO website that states the total outstanding municipal bond debt currently on the books for Kansas City. Hell no you can't! And if you do, post it here. I promise you if you are able to understand numbers that big you will be rightfully afraid for the future of this town.

Sure, interest rates are low now. Just wait until we have to refinance the debt in a few years.

Enjoy your 44% increases in property taxes. Those of you who remain.
