I'm torn on this one . . .
First, it's a good thing for KCPD to get out of their cars and talk with people in their community.
On the other hand, because I know a thing or two about media . . . It doesn't take a rocket scientist to sniff out a coordinated media campaign effort.
Admittedly, this blog community tends to be a bit negative and much too critical (at times) of honest outreach efforts.
The fact is, building better relations with the community is a good thing . . . But I'm pretty sure this is the climax of happy KCPD coverage so far originating from the media wing of the dept. . . .

ReplyDeleteSilly? Perhaps, but I do think it helps young people relate to the officers, as opposed to staying in their car and just driving through the neighborhood.
