Dr. Ernest Evans: Surge in Black Homicides in US?
So, there was a small increase in black homicides in 2012 after such homicides had declined every year since 2006. The increase was not large enough in itself to justify any sweeping conclusions, which is why it is so important that as soon as possible the Justice Department releases the 2013 Uniform Crime Report so we can get the black homicide stats for 2013. (This report should have been released three months ago.) If black homicides in 2013 did, indeed, increase over their 2012 levels, then there are legitimate grounds for concern that the black neighborhoods of the nation may be in the early stages of a "de-policing" crisis that could result in a major surge of violence in those neighborhoods.

In earlier memos going back to the spring of 2012 I have expressed concern that the mishandling of the Trayvon Martin tragedy could set in motion such a "de-policing" crisis. These concerns of mine about a national "de-policing" crisis in the nation's black neighborhoods have, of course, been greatly increased by the tragedy now engulfing the town of Ferguson, Missouri.

No. You question the people who tend to commit the crimes. And black people commit more crimes than anybody on Earth. It is undeniable.

ReplyDeleteFerguson PD, when fully staffed, has, at its best, perhaps 10 - 12 officers on the streets at any time. They are dealing with 21,000 citizens. I find it incredible that mass hysteria and the press has created this fantasy of these guys running around beating the hell out of blacks and terrorising citizens with their "military" gear. If this is not a perfect example of what happens when folks listen to the nuts at MSNBC, the New York Times and CNN then I'm a gorilla's uncle.
ReplyDeleteIf I was the chief of police I'd be sick and tired of the history of frivolous lawsuits and bullshit created by all these do gooders and a few core black racists who would have you believe that this tiny police force is such a bunch of bad ass Ninjas they have the whole Ferguson population scared to death. Talk about a load of bullshit!
So the data raises further questions; 1. How does this translate into a per capita rate within the Black population. 2. How does this rate compare to that of the White population and that of the Hispanic population. That data would help to put the issue in perspective; is the murder rate higher in the black population than in others, lower or the same?
