TKC NOTE: Like Clay Chastain or no . . . There's no doubt that Mayor Sly and City Council have acted skeevy toward his light rail measure that was endorsed by voters.

And right now, we have FIRST NEWS of Clay's push back which should cost KC Taxpayers a pretty penny and is certainly more expensive than if local politicos would just do right by voters.

Chastain, New lawsuit to be filed against city for violating Open Meettings Act

Our attorney and a member of the Light Rail Committee of Petitioners intends to file shortly a law suit against the City for violating the Open Meetings Act at last Thursday's Legislative Council session.

In that session the City Council voted to bastardize the Light Rail Initiative ballot language (slated for November) by deliberately omitting what the initiative taxes are intended for (to build the light rail -based transit system 4,000 voters signed a petition in support of), so it would have no chance of passing.

Unfortunately for the cheaters at City Hall, they did not follow the law and post the council docket 24 hours in advance of that infamous session, nor did they offer any reason during the session as to why they did not post the docket 24 hours ahead of the session. This clearly violates Missouri's Open Meetings Law.

The consequences will be that everything voted on in that session, including the 8 to 1 vote to sabotage the light rail ballot language, will be null and void. And when the voters reject the City's fraudulent light rail ballot question in November, that election result will be nullified as well.

No doubt, the cheaters at City Hall thought by postponing publication of the docket until the lasts minute they would avoid public debate and media scrutiny on the dastardly deed they were about to impart on the people's light rail initiative.

So, excluding the honorable City Councilman John Sharp who was the only member to vote against this act of bad faith against the voters, Mayor James and his fellow cheaters at City Hall ( including City Attorney Bill Geary), can put that in their crooked pipe and smoke it!!!
