"Neighbors in the North End (1600 blocks of Summit/Madison) report that thieves are going up and down alleys where garages/backyard sheds are broken into, locks sawed off, bikes and tools were stolen.
Coleman Highlands, our neighbors south of 31 St. report thieves entered through gate, through the unlocked door stealing lawn mower + air compressor. They tried to take the big power washer but couldn't get it past the car to the door. Thieves not deterred by motion lights.
Check your sheds and garages daily, maybe add an additional lock."
This is an important bit of community news and maybe fact check against talk of so many people moving back to the central city that should provide a look at the facts of life for urban core living.

Why can't we leave our stuff out in the backyard? It is our stuff! Here in the Waldo area the neighborhood is in a tizzy about knock and rob or the fucking streetcar vote. Comes down to the same thing. Losing money.

Authorities are investigating after thieves toting a shotgun robbed a group of park patrons.
Kansas City police were called about 11:30 p.m. Sunday to Brookside Park at East 57th and McGee streets on a robbery.
When officers arrived, they found two separate groups who had been robbed by four juveniles.
Police said one of suspects pulled out a shotgun and told the victims to get on the ground. The thieves then stole more than $1,000 worth of valuables, including jewelry, clothing and purses.
According to a police, the crooks even attempted to steal one of the victims' car but couldn't figure out how to start it. So they decided to flee on foot.
No injuries were reported, and no arrested have been made at this time.
And no description of the NIGGERS was given in the 11:06 AM linked "news".
