TKC BREAKING AND EXCLUSIVE NEWS!!! KANSAS CITY POWER BROKERS PLOT REVENGE AFTER TOY TRAIN STREETCAR DEFEAT!!! KICK-ASS TKC TIPSTERS REVEAL NEW CIVIC ELITE AGENDA AND PRIORITIES!!!

This week Kansas City voters SMACKED DOWN Mayor Sly, The City Council and most of their corporate and civic elite patrons who really control this town's agenda.

However . . .

KANSAS CITY MAYOR, COUNCIL AND THE CITY'S TOP CORPORATE AND CIVIC ELITE POWER BROKERS ARE ALREADY WORKING TO PLOT THEIR REVENGE ON THE VOTING PUBLIC WITH A NEW AGENDA!!!

Because the chubby white women @ Global Prairie think this town's least favorite blogger is kinda cute . . . Also, because this stuff is easy to find for anybody who has even a modicum of knowledge about City Hall . . .

RIGHT NOW TKC TIPSTERS REVEAL THE NEW PRIORITIES OF MAYOR, COUNCIL AND KANSAS CITY'S RULING CLASS AFTER THE TOY TRAIN WAS DEFEATED!!!

Check it:

THE NEW KANSAS CITY MULTI-BILLION DOLLAR AIRPORT RAM THROUGH IS NOW AT THE TOP OF THE LIST FOR THE LOCAL RULING CLASS!!!

The fight for a new KCI isn't even close to finished . . . This is where Mayor and Council dude Russ Johnson will be directing most of their energy in the immediate future . . .

Check out this unsigned EMERGENCY ordinance . . .

#140581: Authorizing a $3,000,000 increase to the contingency for the Terminal Development Planning project at the KCI Airport; and recognizing this ordinance as having an accelerated effective date.

This upcoming fight should be fun but it's risky for everybody and the scale of the project could push Kansas City that much closer to bankruptcy.

BRIEF TKC ASIDE: Mayor Sly and City Council really did KCMO a disservice with a recent charter change that loosened up their transparency requirements on city ordinances. Nowadays we notice A LOT more unsigned legislation and misleading language.

Next up . . .

PREPARE FOR THE ANOTHER CONTENTIOUS FIGHT OVER THE KANSAS CITY E-TAX!!!

Billionaire philanthropist Rex Sinquefield inadvertently gave every Kansas City political consultant a gift when he challenged the e-tax and put it up for a constant re-vote. It's "TOO BIG TO FAIL" and local leaders will now supply this town's consulting class with a heck of a lot of money to make sure there's no chance of it losing. Last time around the E-Tax passed by a margin of 78 percent vs. 22 percent of voters.

Speaking of zombies . . .

OF COURSE KCMO ISN'T FINISHED WITH THE STREETCAR TOY TRAIN, CITY HALL IS STILL STEALING MONEY FROM THE BUS TO FUND IT!!!

Once again here's the hipster locomotive taking desperately needed cash and resources away from the far more effective Kansas City bus service . . .

EMERGENCY Ordinance #140581 - Authorizing a Cooperative Agreement for approximately $1,142,000.00 with the Kansas City Area Transportation Authority (KCATA) and the Kansas City Streetcar Authority for the use of the KCATA’s Transit Radio System for the Downtown Streetcar Transit System; and recognizing this ordinance as having an accelerated effective date.

Translation . . . The priorities of Kansas City's Mayor, Council and corporate rulers are still screwed up even after the public SMACKDOWN from voters. KCMO is still on track to waste money on the toy train despite more pressing problems . . .

Developing . . .

  9. These are definitely a special breed of soulless cocksucker we're dealing with here.

I wonder if they ever actually viewed themselves as stewards of the city's taxbase, or if it was always visions of ribbon-cutting and trips to Spain (had to see the streetcar factory!!) with this group.

Vote NO on everything, and fight these fuckers tooth and nail.

Would a real contender please stand up?

    1. Sly polls over 70% approval in very one of those areas.

Being opposed to the Streetcar is not the same as being mad at sly.

And neither the plaza not brookside was opposed to the streetcar.

      Delete
    2. 5:23 pm; who conducted that poll? Jeff Roe? He also polled only 43% in favor of streetcar a week before the election.

I'm not arguing the mayor's likeability. Aside from two extreme character flaws, I'd think he was a pretty effective mayor. But voter turnout on tuesday wasn't even 15%, so if Sly is polling at 70%, that must NE out of the 85% of people not paying attention.

The fundamental issue with this insensitive type of comment is not the pure hatred and bigotry, but the arrogance associated with the view that your opinion is the only one of value.

  37. Larry Roth sez we can be just like world class Columbus Ohio if we run empty buses all night long instead of a streetcar that would carry hundreds of thousands of people to their jobs each year!

He's a transit genius from brookside who has never been on a bus!

And we can do it for free!

Just imagine: KC can be like a college town in Ohio that used to be 3 tiers below us in size an importance while our former peer cities like Denver and Minneapolis wallow in the horrors of economic growth and increasing tax bases!

    Thanks Lawrence!

    ReplyDelete
  38. I read his letter, too, and I'd like to know how would you would know (1) he's never been on a bus, (2) he's from Brookside, or (3) he knows anything about Columbus, Ohio, Mensa boy? And I didn't read anything in his letter about "we can do it for free."

By the way, Columbus is the state capitol of Ohio, has more than 822,000 people in its city limits (compared with KCMO's 466,000), and is much more than just a "college town." Now you probably know more than about Columbus than he does.

Not that you would ever--gasp--do any primary research on any of the cities you diss (Des Moines, Omaha, Oklahoma City, Topeka, Indianapolis, etc., etc., and, unfortunately, etc.) Ever been to any of them?

And a streetcar carrying "hundreds of thousands of people to their jobs?" (In a city of 466,000, yet? With jobs spread all over the metro?) Been hitting the weed a tad much today?

You're letting that little yellow pin go to your head.

  39. Our bus service is as worthless as the new streetcar.
