ReplyDeleteIf the black Nationalists want to create a black homeland/reservation somewhere for their people then more power to them. They could encourage all their kin to move there and join them. The fact that they put a black State Trooper in charge of Ferguson is proof that blacks need segregation just as much as we do. Some of those black nationalists are doing a great job protecting stores from being looted - they should be the future police force in the black nation. Since most of the whites will be leaving Ferguson soon, the blacks are going to have to step up and take control of the governance, economy, and whatever white collar jobs are left in their looted city. Blacks really need to look into all the benefits that could come from them governing and empowering themselves in their own nation - and moving away from us. Their dependence on whites must be ended.

Community policing is important. Ferguson needs to attract and keep black officers to reflect the community there. Not sure the white officers are as bad as reported, but folks tend to accept interacting with authorities who are reflective of their own community, which includes their racial identity. This could be accomplished. Ferguson only has about 21,000 people. There are only 3 black officers there out of 53 officers. Ferguson is 67% black.

Police have more intelligence than that, they know the consequences of their actions, even though some may be more attuned to social justice than others. Just because you are a police officer doesn't mean that you have to be a target for someone. Yes, they have a dangerous job, but they have the same right to life as anyone else. That being said, the police force of Ferguson must change. They must reflect the community in which they serve. Until that happens, there will only be more chaos.
