KANSAS CITY QUADRUPLE SHOOTING WEEKEND LEAVES ONE DEAD AND MORE QUESTIONS AND FEAR ABOUT RECENT PROGRESS AGAINST LOCAL VIOLENCE!!!
So far this has been the most violent weekend of Summer 2014 in Kansas City.
Just last night there was a TRIPLE SHOOTING IN THE CROSSROADS THAT KILLED ONE PERSON and another serious shooting on 10th Street and White that left a victim with critical injuries.
Accordingly . . .
GIVEN TALK OF NEW KCPD HOMICIDE COUNTING METHODOLOGY . . . WE NEED TO ASK OURSELVES IF THE SO-CALLED PROGRESS AGAINST KANSAS CITY VIOLENCE IS REAL!!!
Certainly we hope it is . . . But to be honest, the public has been kept in the dark about how the homicide count is changing and now there's a bit more scrutiny as to "justifiable" murders and their place in the numbers along with officer involved shootings.
We're still waiting on answers to those questions that we posed FIRST here on TKC . . . But here's the more important quandary for Sunday night . . .
DOES KANSAS CITY FEEL SAFER THIS SUMMER?!?!?
Brookside shotgun hold-ups, constant shootings and a slew of violent assaults that KICK-ASS TKC TIPSTERS have told us about near Westport and The Plaza signal that the quotient of local violence goes beyond stats.
But that is for readers and local denizens to decide while other media outlets focus on sports and and other pointless media chatter tonight . . .

Two cars drive up on either side of a stopped car and spray lead inside. That's way beyond the usual amateurish urban youth hijinks. That's serious gang warfare tactics, like in the days of the Union Station Massacre. We're not gonna turn into Detroit .... more likely, Beirut.
