KCUR indulges our favorite politico and his plan that will never happen and hasn't made ANY REAL PROGRESS since he talked about it last year: Jackson County Executive Mike Sanders says a deal is in place with the Union Pacific Railroad to extend the KATY Trail the 25 miles from its present terminus to the Truman Sports Complex.
Let's be real here . . . KC Southern is never going to let this happen . . . It's the second worst kind of political happy talk out there in order to win political points just for polite talk.

Tony was careful to say "light rail" because the Sanders proposal is not based on light rail -- it uses existing rail facilities. So, there will never be a day when a Sanders light rail line comes to town, and Tony can call himself brilliant.

ReplyDeleteI can testify that the folks around City Hall are very happy that Calvin took his trip to Central America. Things were left undone and Sanders had to deal like a whore on the last day of the month. It was really pathetic but very profitable on this side of the street. LOL

ReplyDeleteThe plan is to extend the Katy Trail first, the hike bike trail. Then down the road light rail can be introduced.
So here's my idea: why don't you shut down this blog for 26 weeks twice a year?
Sanders has been getting much better press now that Lisa Carter pushed Calvin aside. It is a huge improvement.
ReplyDeleteTony, diesel electric trains on standard tracks are HEAVY RAIL not light rail. They (commuter rail) run at speeds with fewer stops. (I.E. suburban Chicago's METRA system, which is not to be confused with the heavy, third-railled EL in the city proper).
